    Episode 04: The Job Description for Connection

    Bending yourself into a pretzel to fit someone else’s mold is an easy trap to fall into. Fresh out of therapy, I’m breaking down the 'job description' template my therapist and I built to filter future connections. Looking back at past romantic interests through this lens, it suddenly clicked why those connections vanished like a puff of smoke. From non-negotiable deal-breakers to a vital lesson from Taylor Swift’s personal timeline, this entry is a raw look at why no one is actually 'late to the game'.

    Episode 03: Dismantling the Brick Wall

    This week’s therapy session forced me to look at how I manage—or rather, restrict—my emotions. I’ve realized that I habitually cap both ends of the emotional scale, preventing myself from feeling too happy or too low in an effort to keep the peace and avoid being a burden to others. But holding it back turns those emotions into a champagne bottle waiting to pop. ​My therapist introduced the concept of taking the bricks down bit by bit through dedicated reflection, rather than letting the pressure build until it takes a baseball bat to the wall. While I didn't manage to complete my homework of allocating daily time to just sit and feel this past week, there are no slaps on the wrist here. This episode is my commitment to a new morning routine: sitting with my tea, letting my mind wander, and giving myself permission to simply feel. It’s a slow step toward being okay with my thoughts, okay with my feelings, and ultimately, comfortable with who I am.

    Episode 01: Mapped Connections

    In this entry, I'm unpacking a pattern I find myself in constantly: navigating the 'friend zone' and trying to be okay with accepting a platonic connection because I value the person too much to lose them. But it brings up a tough question: is that connection healthy for me, or is it doing more harm than good? I'm also working through a task assigned by my therapist this week. Instead of waiting for my Tuesday sessions to process everything, the goal is to practice using active 'I feel' statements with the people in my real life. It's a challenge, especially when you carry the constant anxiety of feeling like a hindrance, a nuisance, or an annoyance to those around you. Two years after a breakup, I'm still trying to find my footing and get back to who I was before the relationship. This is a raw look at trying to speak my truth without the fear of losing the people closest to me.

I've never been great at keeping a daily written diary, so this won't be an everyday habit either. There are no pre-planned topics or set structures here. Whenever something hits me, I'm just going to record it throughout the day and upload it as one giant, raw voice note. Welcome to the starting line.
