He tells the story of how A-B became involved in US Soccer, thanks to the leadership and vision of fellow St. Louisan Denny Long. Former CBC Keeper Mike England In this special interview, Terry catches up with his former goalie, Mike England, who is one of just two goalies in the hoistory of CBC to post an undefeated season. In this episode, Mike talks abou the impact Terry has had on his career and his life, the role his parents played, and challenges he's faced in keeping the doors open and the lights on at St. Mary's - a $4 million per year challlenge. At St. Mary's, Mike has left an indelible mark on the lives of students and families in this southside St. Louis high school. He's been lauded by the St. Louis Mayor's office for his efforgts to keep the Southside neighborhood thriving and alive. During his tenure at St. Mary's, he's: - Created an innovative housing initiative that opens a path to home ownership for low-income families in the neighborhood surrounding St. Mary's; - Partnered with the University of Missouri - St. Louis to provide college scholarship dollars to help St. Mary's students puruse a college education in the Univerisity of Misosuri state college system; - Created a program with the Missouri AFL-CIO to promote the trades to St. Mary's students, and - Secured major funding sources to keep the school open when the Archdiocese announced it would no longer financially support St. Mary's.
