    Nigel Streeter

In this episode of The Life Library, we sit down with Nigel Streeter for an honest and vital conversation about the hidden toll of frontline service, the reality of mental health breakdowns, and how to turn a personal crisis into a force for good. Nigel opens about his time in the police force, reflecting on the earliest, invisible signs of long-term stress and the pressure of the "man up" culture of the 1970s and 1980s. He takes us back to the pivotal night everything came crashing down with his first panic attack, the mixed responses he faced upon returning to work, and the reality of his recovery journey. But Nigel's story is ultimately one of resilience and transformation. Rather than letting his experiences define him negatively, he chose not to "waste a good disaster." Today, he channels his passion for filmmaking and the visual arts into powerful advocacy tools—including his "Feel Good Factor" video series—to support others' wellbeing and spark crucial conversations about mental health.
