'Most People are DJs' is an entertaining podcast that plays indie rock/pop while providing commentary on the music. Most People are DJs also sprinkles some movie and live show reviews into the show that add to the experience. The host gives his opinions and thoughts on different music, bands, and shows he's attended. New indie music news and collaborations pop up alot too.
In episode #226 the host reviews and recommends the movie 'Teenage Dirtbag' while providing dryly comical insight comparing the movie to his own high school observations. The movie is about a 'stoner'(a ciggarette smoking "loser") who tries to impress a popular girl in the high school he attends. The review didn't make me excited to go out and immediately see the flick but it held my attention none the less. Song choices in this episode were strong, however, and included jams from Robot Disaster, Lettercamp, How to Destroy Angels, and Sleigh Bells. My personal favorite was How to Fur Lined by How to Destroy Angels. Although each of the four songs played were solid indie rock/pop. This 'MPAD' episode intrigued me enough to download another and see what else the podcast had to offer.
'Most People are DJs' is a well thought out and insightful blog and podcast. I really enjoy the music Mikel O.D plays. It captures many of the different sounds of the indie world and the information he supplements each song with helped me gain a better connection to the bands. His music reviews are honest and intelligent as well. I'd recommend this podcast if you're into good indie tunes and some helpful music news/reviews.
