Order, Beauty, Abundance | Good Work Pt. 3

What does your everyday work have to do with your faith? More than you might think. From the creation story in Genesis to the vision of the new creation in Isaiah, Scripture shows us that work has always been part of God's design and purpose for humanity. Whether you're bringing order to chaos, beauty to barrenness, or abundance to scarcity, your work matters. This message explores how we can see our daily responsibilities through a biblical lens and find purpose in the work God has placed before us, whether it's paid, unpaid, or somewhere in between. Everyone is in Full-Time Ministry | Good Work Pt. 2

Does your everyday work really matter to God? Scripture shows that work has always been part of His design, and that our calling begins not with finding the perfect job, but with following Christ and being faithful where we are. From ordinary workers throughout the Bible to George Washington Carver, we see how God uses faithful lives to accomplish meaningful things. Whatever your work looks like, you don’t have to chase some elusive calling to make a difference. Your life already has purpose in Christ. Made to Work | Good Work Pt. 1

What does the Bible say about work, and what if it was never meant to be something we simply endure? From the very beginning, God gave humanity meaningful work—not as a punishment, but as part of His good design. The problem isn’t work itself, but the toil and frustration that entered the picture after the fall. Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to bring purpose, faithfulness, and His presence into their everyday lives. Whether we’re working a job, raising a family, studying, or serving others, our work can be an opportunity to participate in what God is doing in the world. The challenge is learning to value our work without letting it define us, and to see its purpose without dismissing it as meaningless. Gospel of Elimination // Piper Koeppen

What if the thing you’ve been trying to fix about yourself is actually something God never asked you to fix? In Genesis, God asks Adam, “Who told you that you were naked?” It’s a question that reaches far beyond the Garden and into the ways we hide, strive, and convince ourselves we’re not enough. This message looks at shame, the pressure to perform, and the ways we try to cover ourselves when we feel like we’ve fallen short. But God doesn’t leave Adam and Eve hiding—and He doesn’t leave us there either. Through Jesus, the work is finished, and we’re invited to stop striving for God’s approval and rediscover the freedom of simply being with Him. Formed Pt. 5 // Formed for His Mission // Luke Humbrecht

What does it really look like to live for something bigger than yourself? In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul talks about how the love of Christ changes the way we see ourselves, our work, and the people around us. We’re all being shaped by something, and the question is whether we’re being shaped by God’s love or by a world that often runs on fear. This message looks at what it means to live as people who have been reconciled to God—and then carry that same message of reconciliation into everyday life. Whether it’s the work we do, the people we welcome, or the courage to share what God has done in our lives, following Jesus is meant to affect more than what happens on Sunday. Formed in His Family // Formed Pt. 4 // Luke Humbrecht

Formation is always happening. The question is whether we are intentionally being formed by God or simply being shaped by whatever surrounds us. In Romans 12, Paul calls us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds rather than conformed to the patterns of the world. In Acts 2, we see what that transformation looked like in the early church: they devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, generosity, and life together. Their community became part of their witness. But somewhere along the way, modern life has made it easier than ever to live without really needing one another. We can stay connected without ever being present, and we can have almost everything we need without asking anyone for help. The Holy Spirit wants to restore something we were never meant to lose: not just a deeper longing for God, but a deeper longing for one another. Gathered community, generosity, and service are simple practices that help form us into the family of God. Hebrews 10 reminds us not to neglect meeting together, but to encourage one another as we follow Christ. Belonging to the family of God isn't an optional extra for the Christian life. It's part of what God is forming us into. This sermon was recorded at a Sunday morning gathering at Church of the Lookout in Longmont, Colorado. Formed by His Presence // Formed Pt. 3 // Luke Humbrecht

What does it look like to live with peace and presence in a world that never stops demanding our attention? In Luke 10, Martha welcomes Jesus into her home and serves Him faithfully, but anxiety begins pulling her in every direction. Mary, meanwhile, sits at Jesus’ feet and listens. Jesus isn’t condemning Martha’s work. He’s inviting her to recognize what’s happening inside her—and to remember that His presence matters more than the pressure to keep up. This message explores what it means to abide in Christ and build a life rooted in His presence rather than anxiety. Through Scripture, the example of Jesus, and practical rhythms of prayer, time in God’s Word, and Sabbath rest, we’ll discover how to return our attention to God in the middle of everyday life. Because peace isn’t found in finally getting everything done. It’s found in learning to live with Jesus, where doing flows from being. How God Transforms Us // Formed Pt. 2 // Luke Humbrecht

Are you tired of trying to change and feeling like nothing is actually sticking? You are not alone. Most of us carry an unexamined theory of how transformation works, but the Bible offers a better way. Rooted in 2 Corinthians 3:18 and Isaiah 64:8, this teaching explores how God transforms us from the inside out. We become what we behold, and God, the potter, is actively shaping us into the image of Christ. Three key elements drive genuine spiritual transformation: **paradigms, practices, and people.** Our paradigms—the deep stories and beliefs we live by—must be renewed by truth. Our practices create space for the Holy Spirit to reshape our habits and desires. And our relationships provide the community where love, patience, forgiveness, and generosity are actually developed. Transformation is not a self-improvement project, and following Jesus was never meant to happen in isolation. Whether you are new to faith or have followed Jesus for years, this teaching offers a practical, biblically grounded framework for understanding how God is changing you—and why lasting change can be so difficult.
