    21 2 Timothy 2:14-15 - Ultimate Approval of a Believer's Work

The sermon examines 2 Timothy 2:15, emphasizing that the ultimate approval of a believer's work comes solely from God, not from human opinion or self-effort. It distinguishes between the believer's positional acceptance in Christ and the responsibility to present their teaching and handling of Scripture as a workman who does not need to be ashamed. The text explores the Greek term *orthotomeo*, defining it as cutting straight or holding a straight course, which requires accurately handling the Word of Truth without adding human philosophy or engaging in unprofitable word fights. The Holy Spirit is identified as the agent who illuminates the truth and keeps the believer on a straight path, ensuring that the message remains faithful to God's original intent. The tone is instructional and pastoral, urging believers to remain diligent in studying Scripture and to trust in the sufficiency of God's Word over cultural or intellectual trends.

Battle for the Mind (Part 2)

This lesson examines the insidious nature of worldly moral reasoning, specifically the shift from absolute divine duty to pragmatic relativism. By analyzing the temptation in Genesis and the Old Testament laws of separation, the teaching highlights how God's people are called to remain distinct from pagan cultures and thought forms. The central argument asserts that Christians must guard their minds against syncretism, which blends incompatible moral systems, and instead take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. The tone is instructional and convicting, urging believers to recognize that true wisdom comes from trusting God's commands rather than seeking personal gain or cultural acceptance. Ultimately, the message calls for a life of radical separation from the world's values while engaging in the mission to make disciples.

    PVC-10-Putting Away Uncleanness, Part 1

Separation from uncleanness is an essential aspect of Christianity; This is Biblical Christianity; Ephesians 4-6 refutes the popular philosophy of "cultural liberalism": The idea that the grace of Christ liberates the believer to relax and enjoy the world; the message these days in most churches: Be a cool dancer. Be liberated, Live as you please; We're cool. The Biblically correct is to walk in the Biblical path; put away ALL uncleanness, now, tonight and tomorrow, keep on doing it, looking for any uncleanness.

The Seven Mountain Mandate and the Battle for Education

Seven Mountain Mandate teachers argue that Christians must reclaim schools, universities, and educational institutions to advance God's kingdom. Although education profoundly shapes people and cultures, Scripture never defines institutional conquest as the church's mission. Dave Jenkins examines the educational mountain through Deuteronomy 6, Proverbs, Matthew 28, Acts 2, Ephesians 4, and 2 Timothy 3. He explains how God shapes the next generation through faithful parents, biblical wisdom, sound churches, gospel proclamation, and ordinary discipleship. Christians should serve faithfully in education, but influence is not dominion, vocation is not ecclesiology, and institutional control cannot regenerate the human heart. Christ commissioned His church to make disciples, not conquer cultural mountains. For more from Contending for the Word, please visit: https://servantsofgrace.org/contending-for-the-word-podcast/
