The Faith of Job

This sermon explores the progression of Job's faith through three distinct levels: obedience, desperation, and sufficiency. It begins by establishing Job's character as a man who feared God and eschewed evil, highlighting the blessing that comes from a lifestyle of obedience. The message then moves to the depth of Job's trust during his suffering, where he declares that even if God slays him, he will still trust in Him, illustrating a faith born of desperation when all other support is removed. Finally, the sermon concludes with Job's submission to God's sovereignty and the ultimate restoration of his life, emphasizing that God is sufficient for all needs and that His glory will be fully revealed in the life to come.

Jesus Heals- Jehovah Ropha

This sermon explores the identity of God as Jehovah Ropha, the Lord who heals, by examining key biblical narratives of physical and spiritual restoration. It begins with the creation of Adam and the breath of life, establishing that all vitality originates from God's hand. The central focus is on the account at Marah, where God sweetens bitter water through a tree, serving as a typological representation of the cross of Calvary that transforms the bitterness of sin into the sweetness of salvation. The message further illustrates Jesus' compassion and power through His healing of lepers, emphasizing that He willingly touches the unclean to restore purity and life. Ultimately, the sermon encourages believers to trust in God's sovereign control over every breath and heartbeat, finding comfort in His faithfulness during times of suffering and dependence.

Who is Forgiveness Owed To?

The sermon argues that biblical forgiveness is conditional upon genuine repentance, rejecting the concept of unconditional forgiveness often promoted by secular culture. By examining Old and New Testament scriptures, the preacher demonstrates that God forgives only after sinners turn from their wicked ways, establishing a clear pattern for human relationships. The message emphasizes that true repentance involves a fundamental change of mind and lifestyle, leading to authentic reconciliation between offended parties. Using examples like Joseph and Christ, the text illustrates that while believers are called to love enemies through compassion, forgiveness itself requires the offender's admission of guilt. Ultimately, the central thesis asserts that no repentance results in no forgiveness, making this sequence essential for restoring broken relationships.

Spirtual Exercise

The sermon explores the necessity of spiritual maturity through the habitual practice of seeking God's Word and relying on the Holy Spirit for understanding. Using the metaphor of milk versus strong meat from Hebrews 5, it contrasts immature believers who are dull of hearing with those whose spiritual senses are sharpened by regular exercise in discerning good from evil. The preacher illustrates this point with the example of Joshua at Jericho, showing how focusing on problems rather than God leads to distraction and fear. Emphasizing that wisdom comes from continual prayer and trust, the message urges listeners to habitually depend on divine guidance rather than their own abilities. Ultimately, it calls for a persistent pursuit of God to gain the strength and faith needed to navigate life's challenges with discernment.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

The sermon explores the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in granting believers spiritual wisdom and revelation. It contrasts human decision-making based on past experience with divine salvation, which originates from God's eternal love and grace rather than human merit. The preacher emphasizes that individuals are spiritually dead until the Holy Spirit quickens their hearts, enabling them to receive Christ and understand the gospel. Key passages from Ephesians, Hebrews, and Isaiah illustrate how God writes His laws on believers' hearts and bestows the Spirit of wisdom upon them. Ultimately, the message encourages reliance on this divine revelation for daily decisions and eternal hope.

The Spirit of Wisdom

The sermon explores the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers, emphasizing that He is a person who dwells within Christians to guide their thoughts and actions. Drawing primarily from Isaiah 11:2, the message outlines the specific attributes of the Spirit, including wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. These divine gifts are presented as essential for spiritual growth, enabling believers to seek truth in Scripture and find strength in Christ amidst life's challenges. The text highlights how the Spirit enlightens the mind, reveals God's power, and intercedes for believers, fostering a deep dependence on Jesus for salvation and daily living. Ultimately, the preaching aims to comfort and strengthen the audience by reminding them that the same Spirit who rested upon Christ now empowers them through faith.

By a New and Living Way

The sermon explores the theological significance of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death as the ultimate atonement for sin, drawing parallels between Old Testament Passover rituals and New Testament redemption. It emphasizes that salvation is achieved solely through the precious blood of the spotless Lamb, not by human works or merit. The preacher highlights how this blood provides continuous cleansing from unrighteousness and grants believers bold access to God's presence. Key passages such as Exodus 12, 1 Peter 1, and Hebrews 10 illustrate the permanence and power of this divine provision. The message concludes with an urgent call to trust in Christ's finished work for eternal salvation.
