Jesus Delivers

Every day we face a battle between truth and lies, fear and faith, but the good news is that we don't fight alone. Through Jesus, who has all authority, and the power of the Holy Spirit within us, we can stand strong against temptation, walk in the light, and experience freedom from sin, strongholds, and even generational patterns. We don't have to live in fear because God's truth, love, and the full armor of God give us the victory and confidence to keep moving forward.

Prayer in The Day of Trouble

This sermon explores Psalm 20 as a model for maintaining faith and confidence during times of distress. It highlights the significance of the title 'God of Jacob,' drawing a parallel to Jacob's prayer in Genesis 32 to demonstrate that God hears and answers in moments of crisis. The exposition emphasizes trusting in the name of the Lord, which represents His character and points prophetically to Jesus Christ as the ultimate banner of victory. The message affirms the theological truths that God saves, hears prayer, and remains sovereign in His holy heaven, providing stability amidst earthly turmoil. Ultimately, the sermon encourages believers to look toward the triumph of the King, Jesus Christ, who conquered sin and death, ensuring that His people stand upright in victory.

An Apostle's Love for the Church

This sermon introduces the Book of Philippians by tracing the historical origins of the Philippian church, highlighting the sovereign work of God in opening the hearts of Lydia and the jailer. It emphasizes the theological significance of Paul's greeting, defining believers as bondservants of Christ and affirming the Trinitarian source of grace and peace. The exposition challenges modern individualism by presenting the New Testament as fundamentally church-centered literature, where joy arises from shared fellowship in the Gospel rather than isolated spiritual experience. The central message rests on the assurance found in Philippians 1:6, that God who began a good work in the church will bring it to completion. This confidence in divine faithfulness serves as the foundation for the enduring joy and mutual support that characterize healthy church life. The Book of Philippians will be studied, going forward, on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm.

By My Spirit

The sermon explores the necessity of relying on the Holy Spirit rather than human strength to fulfill God's purposes, using the vision of the golden lampstand in Zechariah 4 as its foundation. It argues that Zerubbabel's task of rebuilding the temple was impossible by human might or power, requiring divine empowerment to overcome significant obstacles and discouragement. The message applies this principle to the modern church, warning against the temptation to rely on human strategies, wealth, or compromise, and instead calling believers to trust in the Spirit's continuous provision. It emphasizes that God's sovereignty ensures the completion of His work, transforming mountains of opposition into plains through the power of the Holy Spirit. The tone is encouraging and pastoral, urging the congregation to find confidence in God's ability to empower their ministry and sanctification.
