    USC baseball assistant Sergio Brown joins after 7-0 Trojans sweep Rice

    Shotgun Spratling and Kasey Kazliner return on the Dedeaux Download Podcast to break down USC baseball's 7-0 start to the season following a 10-run rule midweek win over Loyola Marymount and a sweep of Rice. The Trojans' weekend starting pitching was again electric as Mason Edwards, Grant Govel and Andrew Johnson all three won their starts to help USC get off to its best start since 2015. The Trojans' weekend starters did collectively give up their first run of the season but only combined to give up one while striking out 28 over 17 innings. USC's bats didn't have the same proficiency as they tallied only 13 runs on 18 hits over the three-game series, but they did enough to put the Trojans in position to stay unbeaten this season. Shotgun and Kasey break down all the action and look forward to the upcoming matchups after they talk with USC assistant coach Sergio Brown, who talks about moving back into an on-field instruction role after being the director of player development the last three years for the Trojans. Brown also discusses the success of USC's pitchers, the Trojans' freshman class that is already providing key contributions and the impact getting Kevin Takeuchi back in the lineup has had after he missed much of last season with injury.     Trojans add San Jose State in week 0 plus USC assistant coach press conference

    In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio breaking down the massive USC assistant coach press conference, where 11 Lincoln Riley assistants each spoke to the media for approximately 15 minutes each. Starting with defensive coordinator Gary Patterson we heard from all of the defensive assistants including the new linebackers and special teams coach Mike Ekeler, new safeties coach Paul Gonzales and new defensive tackles coach Skyler Jones. On the offensive side the coaches were all familiar faces from running backs coach Anthony Jones to tight ends and inside receivers coach Chad Savage. The crew digs into some of the top storylines from all of the interviews, including player injury updates, hints into the depth chart, philosophies on the defensive side of the ball and what the goals are for the 15 spring football practices. Speaking of spring ball, we now know the Trojans will kick off their workouts on March 3, going four days a week with a pause in the middle of March for spring break.     USC football assistant takeaways going into spring camp

    Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return to the microphones to talk about the upcoming spring camp for the Trojans and the recent media day interviews for the assistant coaches.  Chris uses his Two-Minute Drill to pitch his co-host to give up this line of work and start training for the 2030 Winter Olympics in a specific event. Shotgun takes a more rational approach and shouts out the Projans from the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots with his time on the mic.   The boys of Helium briefly the discuss the strange Ja'Kobi Lane story with his locker being raided before discussing takeaways from assistant coaches speaking to the media last week, including defensive coordinator Gary Patterson and safety coach Paul Gonzales.  The Helium Boys then dive into the second half of the show to get Shotgun's reaction to some spring camp themed Take It Or Leave It topics. The hosts also discuss what NFL Trojan that they would add to the 2026 roster.     Women of Troy fall short in Columbus, USC men's basketball on 3-game slide

    The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down USC men's basketball getting crushed at home against No. 10 Illinois and losing a heartbreaker to Oregon also at home, 71-70.
