In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio with wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane joining the show. The talented sophomore had a breakout performance in the Holiday Bowl, snagging a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Miller Moss, and he looks to be a key part of the offense as the Trojans head into the Big Ten era.
Lane played in six of USC's games last season, snagging 7 catches for 93 yards (13.3 avg.) with a long of 31 yards and 2 TDs (both against Louisville in the season finale).
The guys chat with the 6-foot-4, 195 pounded about his impressive bowl game, the progress he has made during the off-season and spring football, the upcoming spring game and lots more.
After the interview Ryan and Connor talk about the newly opened NCAA Transfer Portal including which players USC has lost and which guys Lincoln Riley could be targeting. They also take a look ahead at Saturday's spring game where we will get our first real look at the Trojans revamped defense and this Miller Moss-led offense.

The Dedeaux Download Podcast returns with Shotgun Spratling and Jack Smith breaking down the latest news and notes about the USC baseball program, including the Trojans' going 2-2 last week with a pair of top 20 wins.
They break down how USC was able to get a blowout win over No. 12 UC Irvine for its eighth win in nine games before going on the road to Eugene, Ore. to take on the No. 18 Ducks. The Trojans missed out on some opportunities (or had them robbed away) on Friday and Saturday to drop the series, but bounced back to salvage the weekend with a hard-fought victory on Sunday.
USC star sophomore center fielder Austin Overn joins the Dedeaux Download Podcast after a strong week where he reached base eight times and scored five runs in four games, including hitting a home run. Overn discusses how he's rebounded from a rough start to the season, his emerging power and walks the listener through how he was able to making a leaping catch at the wall to rob a home run for the first time in his career over the weekend.
Overn also talks about the turning point for the Trojans this season and how he tries to display his elite, electric athleticism on the baseball field.
After the visit with Overn, Shotgun and Jack preview a unique week for the Trojans as they will play five games against four different teams in six days, including a rematch with UC Irvine and a matchup with a San Diego team that ranks No. 30 in the RPI during the midweek before taking on a pair of Northern California programs that are tough, well-coached teams that could put a big dent in USC's NCAA tournament resume if the Trojans aren't able to take care of business.
