In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and RJ Abeytia are back in studio talking about head coach Lincoln Riley, quarterback Jayden Maiava and defensive linemen Jide Abasiri and Alex VanSumeren representing USC at Big Ten Media Days in Chicago. Both of our hosts had planned on being at the Chicago Hilton, but after 9 hours of delays at LAX their flight was cancelled and they were denied the opportunity to attend the event in person (and partake in deep-dish pizza in the Windy City). The guys talk about what Riley had to say including the tremendous momentum the team has built up over the off-season and the future of the Notre Dame Game. The players talked about a variety of topics including the impact new defensive coordinator Gary Patterson has made during his time on campus. Both Ryan and RJ continue their countdown of the most important Trojans for the 2026 season, starting where they left off at No. 7 with the aforementioned Jide Abasiri. They also discuss the newly released fall camp schedule with a couple of opportunities for the media to observe full practices and tour the brand new Bloom Center. USC extends NIKE partnership plus most important Trojans for 2026

In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and RJ Abeytia are back in studio discussing the recent announcement of USC athletics extending its partnership with megabrand NIKE for 10 more years, taking the relationship that started in the 1990's into its fifth decade. The new deal will put Trojan student athletes on NIKE's NIL roster, the school's brand new Bloom Football Performance Center will feature Nike strength equipment, the men's and women's basketball teams will get annual custom uniforms and NIKE promises to "refresh" and "reimagining" of the USC campus bookstore. Which Trojan players will step up as leaders in 2026?

In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, RJ Abeytia and India Otto are back in studio projecting which Trojan football players will step up and settle into leadership roles this coming season. The Trojans are in a win-now situation, with a playoffs or bust mindset in year five of the Lincoln Riley era, and will need a handful of players to take control of the locker room and lead their teammates out onto the battlefield every Saturday this fall. Jayden Maiava is back for his third season as a USC quarterback and his second full run as the starter. Maiava isn't a stand on the table type of player, delivering powerful speeches at critical moments, but he has grown as a leader and earned the respect of his teammates on both sides of the ball. The crew talks about what steps Maiava needs to take as a leader to help this team make the College Football Playoffs for the first time in program history. They also discuss some of the other players they expect to step up into leadership roles, from both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Southern California recruiting report plus realistic expectations for 2026

In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and RJ Abeytia are back in studio talking about general manager Chad Bowden's impact on USC's high school recruiting efforts. The Trojans signed the No. 1 recruiting class in 2026 and currently has the No. 14 ranked group for 2027. The guys talk about this shift in focus to high school prospects over the portal and what a recent report from The Athletic had to say about the state of recruiting in Southern California. USC football kicks off in just over two months so Ryan and RJ talk about what their realistic expectations are for this team. Lincoln Riley says that the Trojans championship window is open, so making the playoffs for the very first time has to be on the table. The guys also give their thoughts on the NCAA's new 5-for-5 eligibility rule and how that could impact this Trojan squad and future roster building for USC. Last week three-star defensive tackle Malik Brooks announced that he would not be joining his fellow classmates at USC this fall, instead he will be enrolling at Southwest College to play junior college ball. The guys talk about the 350-pounder's decision to delay enrollment and how his choice could be impacted by the aforementioned 5 for 5 eligibility rule. Shotgun Spratling and Kasey Kazliner return on the Dedeaux Download Podcast to wrap up the 2026 USC baseball season with Trojans' head coach Andy Stankiewicz joining the show to provide insights as we look back at a season of new heights reached under Stankiewicz with the Trojans knocking out a ton of two-decade old 'firsts since...' Stankiewicz talks about the Trojans' disappointing conclusion after being in the Chapel Hill Super Regional and being just two outs away from the program's first trip to the College World Series since 2001 before losing on a heartbreaking walk-off. USC's head coach discusses what he told the players after the final game and the building blocks the team continues to stack brick by brick as it tries to re-establish itself as one of college baseball's premier programs. Stankiewicz also breaks down everything that has happened in the NCAA transfer portal since USC's season has come to an end and chats about his new pitching coach after hiring Hawai'i's Keith Zuniga to take the place of Sean Allen following Allen's hire as head coach at Lamar. After talking with Stankiewicz, Shotgun and Kasey take a look back at the super regional and towards the future of the USC program. They also look back at their preseason picks for several superlatives and hand out their end-of-season awards. From best hitter and pitcher to most impactful newcomer, Kazliner and Spratling discuss some of the top individual performers and moments of the long season.
