    The Curate's Egg Vol.2 - Valentine's Special

The Curate's Egg Vol.2 – Valentine's Special “If love is about understanding, respect, virtue and individuality, the offensive quality of Valentine's Day stems from the conformity it attempts to instil in lovers. We are supposed to follow a particular script suggested to us by a combination of industries. But love is an attempt to get away from clichés, to set up a small community in which our own idiosyncrasies can flourish, and in which we are recognised for our particularities.” (Alain de Botton) Richard Hell & The Voidoids – Love Comes in Spurts / Neil Young – Only Love Can Break Your Heart / Jacques Brel – Ne me Quitte Pas / Serge Gainsbourg – Je Suis Venu Te Dire Que Je M'en Vais / Tim Buckley - Buzzin' Fly / William Bell – I Forgot to be Your Lover / James Brown – I'm A Greedy Man / Quincy Jones & Astrud Gilberto – Who Needs Forever? / Harry Nilsson – You're Breaking my Heart / Pet Shop Boys – Love is a Catastrophe / Love – Alone Again Or / Robert Wyatt – Sea Song / Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds – Into My Arms / Julian Cope – The-Way-Luv-Is This episode is all about love, good and bad, heart bursting or heart breaking, unrequited or fulfilled, long-term happiness and security or a drunken fumble in the car park. Analogue and hiss. Note: Not all songs represent the views of the podcaster. :) Email me at thecuratesegg@gmail.com
