Chicago Geocacher

Great show. I can't get enough. Love it.

I'll admit, I listened to a show about a year ago and didn't really connect with Walt and Scott, the areas that they talked about geocaching in or who they talked about on their show. So I put them on the self and listened to the squeeky clean podcast from sunny San Diego. I found some extra time over the past holiday and listened to another Chicago Geocacher Podcast and they started to grow on me (That's what she said.). Now I am in the process of listening to all the past episodes, wondering, "Will get enough donations to upgrade their equipment?" "Will Walt get his hair cut?" "Will I get a chance to do some of the caches that they highlight?" Now I look forward to each episode like a kid waits for Saturday morning cartoons. Keep up the great work and dinging that bell.

I'll admit that I had stopped listening to the Chicago Geocacher podcast because it was sufficiently off-topic that it bored me. I didn't know any of the people they talk about. I live in the city, not the suburbs, and they mainly focus on the suburbs (Sorry, guys, Palatine and Arlington Heights are not Chicago). Mostly, I just wanted them to stay on topic - give me actual geocaching content! Then, I started getting more "involved" with the local community and I've had a change of heart. Now I know where Joliet is. Now I know who Ziggy is. Heck, now I've even met the hosts. And I realized that the analogy is quite correct - CGP isn't exactly just about geocaching. It's the CarTalk of Geocaching - except with more swearing. If you want wholesome, listen to Podcacher. If you want informative about the hobby, there are podcasts to that too. If you want two guys having a great deal of fun, being irreverent, and talking a bit about geocaching and they see it - well, you can't beat the Chicago Geocacher podcast.

We may cache as a family but the kids go where we take them, Rite? This series is not only entertaining for us adults, but informative as well. Whether a "Newbie" to Geocaching or a seasoned cacher, there is something for everyone. Past episodes document such adventures as Scott & Walt's trip to Beverly Woods as well as give information ranging from caches worth the hunt to what exactly a "BehmRequsite" or "Kodydoggin' it" is.
