    381. Rambo (2008)

    381. Rambo (2008)

The legacy sequel we didn't know we needed. Jay and guests Matt from Film Feast, Andy from Imperial Scum, and Carmelita Valdez McCoy track through the jungles of Rambo (2008).

It was 20 years since Rambo had any presence on the big screen. Stallone had a career resurgence with Rocky Balboa. He returned to his other franchise in attempt to Mary the psychological aspects of First Blood with the fun action tropes of parts 2 and 3. How well did it work? Listen as Jay welcome guests Matt Bledsoe, Andy Gorham, and Carmelita Valdez-McKoy for this review.

    380. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

    380. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

We will try to make the best guess we can. Jay and Nate review Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986). Part of the ongoing Star Trek Retrospective Series.

After the successes of parts 2 and 3, another entry was inevitable. But the creators - and many of the cast members - felt like they needed to lean more into comedy after the stark action and drama of the series so far. Did the gamble to combine chuckles with a time-travel, fish-out-of-water story work? Find out on the latest installment in our Star Trek retrospective series.

    379. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1995)

    379. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1995)

A horror sequel via Coast to Coast AM sensibilities. Jay and Nick continue their journey through this series with Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1995).

Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger were not yet household names when this fourth entry was filmed. By the time it found release, the studio was trying to cash in on their stardom by hiding what has to be one of the boldest turns in an horror series. Did the conspiracy-theory chills work? Or is this a mere cash-grab desperately trying to find a new audience? Tune in as Jay and Nick continue their journey through the TCM series.

    377. Major League (1989)

We’ve been calling our shot for 14 years. Step up to the plate as Lindsey, Ron, and Brian review Major League (1989).

Can Tom Berenger pull off being a sex symbol? Can Charlie Sheen be funny? Can anyone believe the MLB Cleveland team could ever be good? Find out as we celebrate 14 years of Film Strip with this review!

Love This Show!

I’m partial to the strict horror episodes, but all I’ve listened to are thoughtful with great banter. Love it!
