Grant Kaye on the PM Podcast

We are excited to feature a DJ that really packed a punch at PM during this year's burn. Here is an exclusive, energetic mix from the Truckee-based, Hawaii-born Grant Kaye; part of the goofball DJ collective Pocket Underground that brings the Woogie Stage to the Lightning in a Bottle festival in Southern California. Grant rocks sets here and there at venues around the Reno/Tahoe area, as well as at Burning Man and other underground outdoor festivals. Grant curates and produces Pocket Underground's weekly tech house / techno podcast Beat Soup - check it out athttp://pocket.podomatic.com. It's delicious!Grant was a volcano scientist at the US Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, and also worked for the New Zealand Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences. In 2008, he moved on from his career in volcanic hazards in New Zealand to return to Lake Tahoe, where he lives with his wife Kirsten and works as a GIS cartographer and a landscape and timelapse photographer.When he's not making maps or taking pictures, Grant likes to weld and make fire art for Burning Man. Jason Wilson on the Pink Mammoth Podcast

This week we are glad to feature a mix from a long time friend and participant of Pink Mammoth, Jason Wilson. He has been known to drop all sorts of deep funkiness, and has played his own share of Pink Mammoth parties at Burning Man, the Endup as well as some celebrated, underground house parties. He's also opened up for the likes of Marques Wyatt, and even has done a few djing stints in Poland. He characterizes he sound as "mostly deep house with thick bass lines and a little bit of tech house peppered in to get the higher frequencies needed for a nice even blend of highs and lows."
