    Will We Have Ham Antennas in HOAs in 2025?

    We discuss the reintroduction of a bill proposed to Congress in 2023 to allow ham radio operators to erect antennas in deed restricted communities, and the grass roots effort to get it passed. Intro :00 Billboard 1:15 New Bills Introduced to Allow Ham Radio Antennas in HOAs 1:30 In 2023 a bipartisan bill Titled Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act was introduced to the US House of Representatives. This bill proposed to amend the Communications Act of 1934 to prohibit the application of certain private land use restrictions to amateur station antennas in HOAs. It didn’t pass. Now, the bill is back, and with it a grassroots effort to push it through legislation from none other than the ARRL. How You Can Help Get The Bills Passed 37:00 1. Write Congress. The most direct action right now is to send letters to your Representative and both Senators using the ARRL tool at send-a-letter.org.     How Will the New PA Hands-Free Law Affect Mobile Radios?

    We discuss the new Pennsylvania law that bans the use of handheld mobile devices and how it may affect two way radio operators across various services. This new law bans the use of hand-held mobile devices in a vehicle, even when the vehicle is stationary.
