    Episode003-ShawBrosPt1'66-'70

Ryan and David discuss some of Shaw Brothers Studios' late 60s martial arts movies, including Come Drink With Me (1966), The Sword & The Lute (1967), The One-Armed Swordsman (1967), Golden Swallow (1968), Vengeance (1970), and Heads For Sale (1970). These films introduce us to classic Shaw stable-members Cheh Chang, Jimmy Wang Yu, Lieh Lo, Lung Ti, David Chiang, as well as filmmaking Super-Teams like The Iron Triangle and The Five Venoms. NEW FEATURE: SHIT WE'VE SEEN LATELY Because we need to vent about flicks that don't fit into our normal format, we've set aside 20 minutes or so to give our thoughts on SHIT WE'VE SEEN LATELY. We offer our opinions on Red State (does Kevin Smith love God?), Attack The Block (is it OK that we do not like or understand the heroes?), The Hole (Joe Dante teen "horror" that leads us to watch...), Puppetmaster III: Toulon's Revenge (we threaten to record a Puppetmaster episode), Bridesmaids (are Kristin Wiig and Maya Rudoplh the funniest females alive?), and Transformers 3 (which inspires Ryan to quote Shakespeare). ANOTHER NEW FEATURE: TWITTER FRIENDS We thank the following awesome people we've met on Twitter... @DrunkOnVHS, @aftermoviediner, @basementreviews, @aytiws, @chadwickginther, @3BlackGeeks, @DailyGrindhouse, @DriveInMob, @CulturalGutter, @DraconicVerses, and @tragedyman. YET ANOTHER NEW FEATURE: COUCH CUTS We love strange and interesting music as much as we love strange and interesting films, so we're gonna include one of our favorite songs at the end of each episode. No top 40, just cool music we think more people should hear. Because he thought of the idea, Ryan gets to start, and his Couch Cut is "Friend Of The Night" by Mogwai, from their 2006 album Mr Beast. If you like the track, please purchase some of their music at your local independently owned record shop. Episode004 - HELLRAISER - in 2 weeks, we tear your soul apart and what not...

As an added bonus, Dave takes a shit. Look out for The Cult Couch Podcast Episode 003, where we examine the mid-late 60s Shaw Brothers martial arts films. And yes, we have addressed our previous audio issues

    Episode001-TheSawFranchise

@RyanGelley & @PicklesThePolak talk about all 7 Saw films. We watched them all in one day. If you are a Saw fanatic, please keep this in mind. Also keep in mind that asking a man to watch more than 4 hours of Costas Mandylor in 1 day is cruel and unusual. Having said that, there's a lot to talk about in the Saw franchise. It is an increasingly complex set of sequels w/ innumerable instances of retroactive continuity and flashbacks. But, (SPOILER ALERT) the franchise NEVER goes to space. Not even once.
