I am an older lady who has heard many a sermon and have a degree in theology, but this young man is a clear thinker, a good story teller, and has a sense of a deeper truth. His story of the advice of the hermit to the abbot of a dying monastic group was transforming because it was not about discerning the bad from the good. It was about how to be deserving of heaven by recognizing Christ in everyone including oneself and acting respectfully all of the time. Now I attempt to be present in the moment and I know that God is always present, but my ego is so into itself that it leads me astray once every moment! Oh dear, do I need to pray. This sermon tells you how wrong the ego can be and how beautiful reality is when you wonder about Christ, when you suspect his presence, when you are willing to question your habitual attitudes. If only .... Well, I have to listen many more times. I recommend that you do, too.
