... And oh my God how I love it. The three players must be Skyping or GoogleChatting so each voice is clear and fully audible. The players are strong in characterization! Feels like Leo, Agnim and Marmolek are fully fleshed out, each with things to love and hate about them. (Well, I have a soft spot for Agnim, the only thing to hate is his fanaticism, but he's got reason -- he fell from Heaven, after all. Or thereabouts.) The interplay between the PCs is roleplaying at its's finest. The players stay casually and wonderfully in character, engaging in both playful and deeply philosphical conversations, and suddenly two of them form a tug-of-war over the third, imbuing the game with a new dimension of conscience and redemption. When I consider that the players are improvising, using only the backstories they brought to the table... well, mind blown.
Meanwhile the DM weaves a quest around them that presents true surprise, twists, and menace. Each NPC is a person, each encounter is a challenge, each leg of the journey, a vista.
If it isn't clear -- this is one of the best role-playing podcasts I've ever had the privilege of listening to while I work. Many times, I've had to just stop what I'm doing and just Twitter-tip my hat to these fellas. Well done!
