    I decided to pop onto Twitch and play some musica to get me outta some bad feels. Hip Hop never disappoints and by the time the set was done I was feelin’ much better. I got my wires crossed and said Dilla produced The Roots’ Double Trouble, he didn’t, he produced Dynamite, but it’s Dilla Month so please pardon my faux pas.     DJ Rahdu - FlyJazzSounds

    I was livestreaming a DJ mix and played 3 John Coltrane flips back to back and began to ponder doing a mix featuring Jazz/Hip Hop hybrids. I decided to challenge myself and only include tracks I've received in 2020. The result is FlyJazzSounds, the 30 minute mix you hear once you press play. Although, inspired by Jazz, the mix is primarily Hip Hop, unlike my Some Jazz series.  Sadly, while completing the mix, Jazz critic Stanley Crouch passed away. I admired Crouch for his beautiful writing and intelligence, but largely disagreed with his thoughts on Jazz and especially Hip Hop. He had a really interesting idea that Davey Crockett was the first embodiment of Hip Hop. I'll share the link if I can find it again. RIP Bro Crouch.     Much love to my brother, DJ BlaqT for offering me the opportunity to rock a guest mix during the launch of Ubuntu Beats Radio FM in South Africa on his sOulfanaticS frequencies show. I pretty much throw the kitchen sink at the listener for an hour with an eclectic mix of breaks, hip hop, soul & remixes. I hope you enjoy the mix but make sure you support and listen to UBRFM.net, the only station in South Africa playing independent, alternative music from around the world.     I had a great time putting together this mix of covers to share with y'all. I've been told this mix has something for everyone and I'm glad it's able to connect in that fashion! All of my favorite genres are represented and most have been flipped on their heads like Kandace Springs' version of Lauryn Hill's Ex-Factor.
