His App PRETTY MASCULINE invites his fans and other artist into his creative process with behind the scenes looks, interviews with his team of artist and professionals, and it's constantly renewing its content in order to always keep your imagination going. Tapping away at my computer working on a mundane Tuesday project (think boring legal brief), I came across this unexpected podcast that explodes my idea of the finite nature of a "completed" work of art. Mike Ruiz's app conjures futuristic images of art collectors who will have multiple flat screens on their walls each dedicated to a specific and iPads on their cocktail tables dedicated to specific topics, each displaying completely dynamic works that the artists themselves are changing & uploading while giving the consumer the opportunity to download the newest iteration of any given work. As I imagine turning on my coffee-table book iPad and seeing that my favorite artist has decided to add a mole to the face of his subject or has added a housefly to a still life, I am inspired by the future possibilities that the marriage of art and technology have to offer. Imagine! What an unexpected treat!
