After listening to several actual play podcasts for a couple different systems, I really wanted to focus on SR. Hidden Grid would seem to fit that slot. Overall, I have to say it's got the potential to be one of the best actual play podcasts, but it's hampered by a couple things.
I've found myself literally throwing my headphones at my desk in irritation a few times due to a couple of the players/characters. Either these people are the best role players/actors I've ever heard or they are vastly annoying at times. I get that the decker is playing a young girl, but man does she take it too far. It's aggravating as all get out to hear her say "um, she, um, she does this!? um, yea." But then again, she's very dedicated to playing her character. It's just a character choice that really irks me.
Mr. Grey, whatever he is supposed to be, is similar. Just a tone in his voice that is grating. He always seems very self entitled, greedy, and holier than thou. His character may actually be designed that way, but dang man. Step out of character sometimes when you're talking to the other players about game mechanics, plans, etc. He just comes across as a dick. I've stopped listening to segments, or just skipped over them, when he is the predominant talker.
Other than those two gripes, it's a great podcast. Justin, the DM, is fantastic. Very patient, not too rules lawyer-ey, and got a decent sense of humor. Audio quality is generally pretty solid.
And props to the player who's running Tabetha, the rigger. She's my new favorite character, hoping that she sticks with it and really develops into a larger role in the game.
