Nerd Novice - Nerd Novice

If you’re tired of nerds shouting at each other about why they’re thing is great and just want to make sense of it all, Nerd Novice is what you seek. It’s one thing for a podcast to just talk about awesome bits of nerd culture, but it’s a rarity for a podcast to break down the intricacies of a show/movie/book and get at the core of *why*it is awesome while presenting it in such an accessible way. It doesn’t matter if you’ve even heard of the show or movie they’re discussing. Jim and Megan provide a “Cliff’s Notes on Steroids” window into that which makes nerd culture awesome.

I like listening to Nerd Novice because it does one of two things: either it gives you a snapshot or summary of a facet of nerd culture that you are not aware of so that you can decide if it's something you'll be interested in; or it gives you a vicarious thrill of discovery for a treasured series and you just think to yourself "Oh I can't wait for them to get to that part where. . ." Great light listening podcast that makes you want to join the discussion!

Great show, right from the first episode. The enthusiasm of the hosts really shines through, both Capt Jim & Megan - even if she hates Angel and loves Spike (like a freak ;). Each episode has been fun to listen to. It always leaves me looking forward to the next episode.

This is one of my new favorite podcasts. I love the dynamic of the two hosts, Jim and Megan. The shows feel like you're sitting around talking with friends. The inclusion of all things nerdy - Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Buffy, Game of Thrones, Charmed, etc - is what will keep me coming back for more.
