Slate's Table to Farm #1: Seared Scallops Edition
This new series, featuring Slate's L.V. Anderson and The Sporkful's Dan Pashman, reverse engineers the food chain, exploring the origins of what we buy, cook, and eat. In this episode Laura and Dan talk to a commercial fisherman, a shellfish farmer, and the organizer of a community supported fishery (CSF), then cook up some seared sea scallops.
Customer Reviews
Interesting podcast!
I enjoy this podcast and the way they look into where certain foods come from. My only gripe is Dan constantly mentioning that Laura is a vegetarian. I'm a vegetarian as well and I hate when someone else mentions it in situations where it's not relevant. Like the queso episode? She's not vegan so why was the vegetarian thing brought up?
Great Podcast
I enjoyed this podcast. It certainly had a New York focus as one reviewer mentioned, but I liked the journalistic approach to food. Definitely enjoyable for food-lovers.
Love them!
Can't wait for this podcast to come back! I miss these two and listening to them on my morning commute. It's very informative and takes experts from both sides to examine the food at hand.
