When Slowing Down Wasn't A Choice

For years, being the "gym girl" was my entire identity. I loved working out, staying active, and chasing fitness goals, but what looked healthy on the outside slowly became something much more complicated. In this episode, I share my journey from being obsessed with exercise and struggling with constant food noise to developing an eating disorder that ultimately landed me in the hospital. We talk about the pressure to always do more, how easy it is to confuse discipline with self-destruction, and what happens when your body forces you to slow down. Now, instead of focusing on burning calories and pushing harder, I'm working on how to gain weight, heal my relationship with food, and find value in myself outside of exercise. If you've ever felt trapped by your own expectations, struggled with body image, or found your identity wrapped up in one thing, this episode is for you. It's an honest conversation about recovery, growth, and learning that sometimes the hardest thing you can do is simply rest.

    Reflecting on Year One

College is often sold as the best four years of your life—but what happens when the transition is harder than expected? In this episode, I'm sharing my biggest takeaways from my first year of college: the highs, the lows, and all the unexpected moments in between. We'll dive into what it feels like to step into a life you've never lived before, how difficult it can be to adjust to a completely new environment, and the importance of finding support in your community. Most importantly, this conversation is about normalizing the messy, confusing, and sometimes lonely parts of life after high school that so many people experience but few openly discuss. So whether you're heading to college, in the middle of a big life transition, or simply figuring things out as you go, join me in making sense of it all on Switch Up!
