Sermon July 19, 2026 | Isaiah 25: The Feast of Victory - Finding Real Peace in a World of Doom and Gloom

Before the 2026 World Cup began, the internet was flooded with doom-and-gloom forecasts. People expected the worst, yet they arrived to find a grand, joyous feast of community, culture, and kindness. In this message, Pastor Quandt points us to a far greater feast—one prepared not by us for God, but by the Lord Almighty for all peoples. Through the words of Isaiah 25, we see a beautiful reality rooted in the certainty of the Bible: our Savior God is the ultimate "Death Eater." He has completely flipped the script on our sin, disgrace, and the grave, swallowing up death forever through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If you are tired of the negative forecasts of this changing world, come find a lasting peace that fills your life today and anchors your eternity. At Abiding Peace, we love seeing generations gather around this good news. If you are raising children or grandchildren in the Upstate, we invite you to learn more about Abiding Peace Academy (K2-8th), where we partner with families to anchor the next generation in God’s unchanging truth. Sermon July, 12, 2026 | Finding Peace When You Stop Trying to Be the Hero

We all want to be the hero of our own story. We love tales of strength, triumph, and self-reliance. But when it comes to our relationship with God, trying to be the hero only leads to exhaustion and despair. The truth of the Bible is far more liberating: you don’t have to save yourself. Christ has already won the victory. Instead of calling us to be heroes, God invites us to be something even better—His messengers, sharing a whisper of unchanging peace with a world that desperately needs it. In this sermon, we explore what it means to drop the pressure of saving ourselves and embrace the joy of being a herald of the Good News. Scripture: Romans 10 (with references to Isaiah 52 & 1 Kings 19)Speaker: Vicar Charlie Ungemach If you are new to the Upstate area, we know how overwhelming a big move can be, and we want to welcome you to a community where you can find rest and a reliable church family. Sermon July 5, 2026 | Citizens of Heaven: Navigating God and Country — Matthew 22:21

As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, it’s natural to reflect on what it means to be a good citizen. But where does a Christian’s ultimate loyalty fall when navigating the complex waters of God and country? In a world filled with shifting political tides and social pressures, Jesus gives us a brilliant, grounding framework: "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." By looking at the brave example of the Old Testament believer Obadiah and the comforting reminder from the Apostle Paul that our true citizenship is in heaven, we uncover the enduring peace that comes from knowing who we truly belong to. We are blessed, set free from guilt, and perfectly cared for by a King whose kingdom will never fail. No matter what earthly government we live under, we can navigate life with total certainty and joy. Scripture Readings: 1 Kings 18 (Obadiah's Faithfulness), Philippians 3:20, and Matthew 22:21 Speaker: Pastor Duane Rodewald Location: Five Forks If you are new to the Upstate area or have recently relocated to South Carolina, we know how challenging it can be to find a new spiritual home—we would love to welcome you into our reliable church family! Sermon June 14, 2026 | From Moses to Joshua: God's Provision for Sheep Without a Shepherd

40 years. That’s how long Moses faithfully led God’s people through the wilderness. Yet, in a single moment of frustration and anger at Meribah Kadesh, he dishonored the Lord and faced a devastating consequence: he would not enter the physical Promised Land. If we are honest, we’ve all had our own "Meribah moments." We lose our temper, we grumble, we try to take control, and we fall short of God’s perfect standard. We know we don't deserve the Promised Land on our own merits. But notice what Moses did next. He didn’t throw a tantrum or beg for himself; instead, he selflessly begged God to provide a shepherd for his people so they wouldn't be left helpless. God answered Moses then by raising up Joshua—and He answers us today with the Ultimate Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Where we failed, Jesus stood in as our perfect substitute. His resurrection is the ultimate signature on God's masterpiece of grace, assuring us that our past is forgiven and our place in the eternal Promised Land is completely secure. In a chaotic world where we constantly face our own limitations, you can find deep, unchanging peace in the certainty of His promise: Your sins are gone, and heaven is yours. Scripture Reading: Numbers 27 & Matthew 9Speaker: Pastor John Meyer Moving to a fast-growing area can feel like wandering in a wilderness of your own, but you don't have to navigate it alone—Abiding Peace is a reliable church family where you can get anchored and find rest. Sermon 4/12/26 The Day Jesus Put the Entire World on Hold for One Man

We often remember Thomas as the ultimate skeptic—the "Doubting Thomas" whose name is fused to uncertainty. But the original language reveals a much deeper, more intense struggle: a heartbreaking moment of utter unbelief. We all face those seasons where our world is shaken, our peace is fractured, and we find ourselves questioning God's faithfulness. But look at the radical love of your Savior. Jesus had a brief 40 days on earth after His resurrection, yet He paused everything to meet Thomas right in the midst of his deepest despair. He didn't come with scolding or sarcasm; He came with wounds of love and words of peace. Easter changes everything because it proves that Jesus loves you more than the whole world, and He will go to any depth to reach you, restore your joy, and anchor you in His unchanging truth. Scripture: John 20:19-31 Speaker: Pastor Mike Quandt Moving to a new area can leave you searching for solid ground, but you don't have to navigate this transition alone—join us this Sunday to find a community rooted in the certainty of God's Word.
