N2THE92 Ep 1: Sarah Case Deep Dive

On June 2, 2021, the quiet neighborhood of Gay Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana, became the backdrop for one of the most horrific crimes in the city’s history. Twenty-six-year-old Sarah Zent and her three beautiful children—five-year-old Carter, three-year-old Ashton, and two-year-old Aubree—were found brutally murdered inside their home, hidden beneath blankets with the air conditioning intentionally cranked to the maximum. As investigators surveyed the catastrophic scene, they quickly realized they weren't just looking for a killer; they were looking for a monster who had completely vanished into thin air, leaving behind a shattered family and a community paralyzed by fear. Suspicion immediately turned to Cohen Bennett Hancz-Barron, Sarah’s on-and-off boyfriend, whom she had been desperately trying to evict after discovering his dark criminal past. Within hours of the gruesome discovery, a massive statewide manhunt was underway as police tracked a trail of stolen vehicles, frantic calls for duct tape, and erratic behavior that led them straight to a Lafayette apartment complex. When law enforcement finally cornered the suspect, they found him in possession of Sarah’s credit card and a blood-stained knife, setting the stage for a dramatic, high-stakes prosecution that would challenge the very boundaries of the Indiana justice system. But the physical evidence was only the surface of this tragedy, and the courtroom drama was about to take a bizarre, unprecedented turn. As the trial began, the accused killer made a shocking decision that left the courtroom breathless, while investigators uncovered chilling details about Sarah's final moments that the public was never supposed to hear. What were the terrifying secrets that were hidden inside that frozen home, and why did the killer refuse to look Sarah’s grieving family in the eyes? Tune in and find out!
