The Dignity Room

Eva Sillaber

You're not ungrateful. You're awake. The Dignity Room is a podcast for high-achieving women in midlife who built the life they were told to want, and quietly feel empty inside it. Each week, we name the things you've never said out loud: the perfect life that feels hollow, the exhaustion that isn't failure, the intuition you stopped trusting, and the honest truth about money and freedom. No hype, no five-step fixes, no "manifest your dream life." Just one woman to another, still on the road herself. This isn't about fixing your life. It's about trusting yourself inside it again.

    Trusting Your Gut Again

How do you trust your intuition again when you've spent years second-guessing every choice? This is a practice episode, not more theory. Your gut didn't leave. It answers in a split second, before the reasons flood in. You just stopped catching it in time. First, the grounded part: your gut isn't magic and it isn't random. It's decades of accumulated experience giving you a read faster than conscious thought, surfacing as a sensation before the words arrive. It isn't the irrational part of you. It's the part that's been paying attention the longest. Then the practice, three small steps: pick something that doesn't matter, catch your first answer before the analysis rolls in, and this time, go with it. Then watch as almost nothing happens. That "nothing bad happened" is the whole medicine, repeated until you believe it. Self-trust rebuilds through tiny promises kept, not one brave leap. Two things will trip you up, and naming them now means you won't read them as failure: confusing fear (loud, urgent, full of stories) with intuition (quiet, steady, it just knows), and the urge to test it on something big too soon. Stay small longer than you want to. If you want the fuller story of how your inner voice went quiet, listen next: Episode 004 . The Voice You Stopped Trusting.
