we used to do shots, now we do botox | ft. katy cook

remember when a night out meant getting dressed up, staying out until 3 am, and somehow making it to brunch the next morning? yeah, those were the days 😂 this week, jo is bringing her longtime best friend katy into the group chat - and when you've been friends for 20 years, there's a LOT to unpack. we're talking about the kind of friendship that starts in a nightclub bathroom, survives questionable dating decisions, and somehow makes it through all the different versions of ourselves along the way - because somewhere between the late nights, the breakups, the weddings, and the botox appointments, life started looking a little different. and while there's plenty of laughing about their younger selves, things also get unexpectedly emotional as jo and katy talk about the lives they imagined, the ones they're actually living, and what it means to have someone who's been there through all of it. plus, a few old hollywood stories that probably should've stayed in the group chat, some very honest conversations about growing up, and a round of get it off your chest that proves adult friendships are complicated no matter how old you are. consider this your reminder that growing up doesn't mean you have to stop being the girls you used to be - sometimes you just trade the tequila shots for botox and call it personal growth 🤍 new episodes every wednesday. because life doesn't always go according to plan. follow along for new episodes, behind the scenes moments, and whatever we're currently spiraling about next because we're probably not done yet: https://hoo.be/currentlyspiralingg 🌀

it's not too late to start over

imagine finding a video of yourself from six years ago and realizing that girl was out here giving life advice like she had it all figured out 😂 except here's the thing. she actually had some pretty good things to say. this week, jo is taking a little trip back to 2020, when she was 40, newly single, starting a completely different career, and trying to convince herself that she wasn't too old to begin again - and while a lot has changed since then, some of the things she was telling herself back then are exactly what she needed to hear today. because starting over sounds exciting until you're actually the one doing it. until you're questioning whether you made the right decision, wondering if everyone else is further along, or realizing that the life you thought you'd have by now looks absolutely nothing like the one you're living. and sometimes the hardest part isn't even starting over. it's giving yourself permission to want something different without treating everything that came before it like a failure. so consider this a little throwback, a little pep talk, and a reminder from 40 year old jo that you can change your mind, change your plans, and change your entire life without being too late for any of it. and yes, present day jo cringed at her old voice a little - but she's also giving that girl her flowers 🤍 new episodes every wednesday. because life doesn't always go according to plan. follow along for new episodes, behind the scenes moments, and whatever we're currently spiraling about next because we're probably not done yet: https://hoo.be/currentlyspiralingg 🌀

there's nothing to fix because nothing is broken | ft. christie val

when did we all decide that being happy with ourselves meant we were giving up on becoming something more? there's always another goal to reach, another version of ourselves to become, or something we think we'll finally feel better about once we change it. and somehow, even when life is going pretty well, it can still feel like we're falling behind. jo and christy get into the pressure to constantly work on ourselves, the comparison game we didn't even realize we were playing, and why it's so hard to feel like we're enough in a world that's always telling us we could be better. but some of the most interesting parts of this conversation aren't really about confidence at all. they're about the expectations we put on ourselves, the things we think will make us happy, and what happens when we start questioning where those expectations came from in the first place. if you've ever looked at your life and wondered why you're still not completely satisfied, even after getting things you once dreamed of, pull up a chair. you're at the right table. 🤍 want to learn more about christy's upcoming events and the work she's doing with baldtourage? follow along for updates and more information! • christy: www.instagram.com/christie.valdiserri • baldtourage: www.instagram.com/baldtourage new episodes every wednesday. because life doesn't always go according to plan. follow along for new episodes, behind the scenes moments, and whatever we're currently spiraling about next because we're probably not done yet: https://hoo.be/currentlyspiralingg 🌀

spiraling about birthdays, getting older & being enough

because apparently 25 year old jo thought 46 year old jo would have a house, at least two kids, a stable career and generally feel like she had arrived by now 😂 instead, she’s still figuring it out. and strangely, this birthday feels less like a reason to panic about that and more like a reason to question why we decided there was a deadline in the first place. we’re talking about the endless list of things women are told we “should” be doing by a certain age - get married, have kids, make more money, eat cleaner, work out more, look younger, improve ourselves - and why jo is suddenly very tired of treating life like one giant self-improvement project. there’s also the very real part of getting older where your brain is still convinced you’re 27 while the gray hairs, neck lines, and person looking back at you in the mirror would like a word. plus, jo shares what seven months without alcohol has actually been like, why she’s still hopeful about having a baby at 46, what the last year taught her about the life she and taran are building, and why she’s starting to feel like maybe there isn’t one correct version of what her life is supposed to look like. basically, we celebrated a birthday, ate an unreasonable amount of sugar, got a little mushy, and somehow ended up feeling hopeful about being exactly where we are. are we growing up? absolutely not.  new episodes every wednesday. because life doesn't always go according to plan. follow along for new episodes, behind the scenes moments, and whatever we're currently spiraling about next because we're probably not done yet: https://hoo.be/currentlyspiralingg 🌀
