Our guest today is Puneet Saraogi, founder of Hill Fort Capital. Puneet spent seven years at Arisaig Partners — running their Indian book and co-heading their global emerging markets fund — before four years at Bay Capital, and then striking out on his own in 2018. Arisaig built its name on consumer franchises: concentrated, long-horizon, high returns on capital. The kind of businesses that were, for years, the standard proof of India's competitive moats. Those same businesses have had a brutal few years. We get into what happened to India's consumer compounders, whether the quality framework still works in a market this expensive, and what a good year in 2017 taught him about telling earnings from multiple expansion. Here's our conversation with Puneet. **** Disclaimer (Guest): This podcast is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
