Pilates, Power & Living Out Loud with Emily Phillips

Send us Fan Mail Lawyer. Lifestyle creator. Pilates instructor. Taylor Swift superfan. Mother of three. And a woman who is never afraid to say the thing everyone else is thinking. Emily Phillips does not do anything halfway—and this episode is no exception. Emily has built a devoted online community by being refreshingly authentic, fiercely honest and completely herself. She shares the workouts, the outfits, the motherhood moments, the opinions and the beautifully imperfect reality behind it all. She is also thriving in her own weight-loss journey, having already lost an incredible 60 pounds. But living publicly also means facing criticism—especially from people who believe they have the right to comment on a woman’s body. Emily has heard the comments about her weight. She has felt the judgment. And instead of shrinking, she has answered with strength, honesty and power. She is challenging the idea that fitness can be measured by a number on a scale and reminding women that strong bodies—and strong women—do not all look the same. In this unforgettable Season 2 premiere of Laugh Love Law, Emily opens up about balancing several careers, raising three children, putting parts of her life online and deciding which pieces still belong only to her. She talks about confidence, criticism, boundaries, body image, authenticity and the complicated art of sharing your life without giving the entire world access to it. Bold, beautiful, funny, vulnerable and unapologetically honest—this is Emily Phillips exactly as she is. And trust us: she has a lot to say. Real conversations. Real people. Real impact.

Strong Women Don’t Come With an Off Switch: with Melissa Sposato Tortora, Esq.

Send us Fan Mail For the Season One finale of Laugh Love Law, Heather is joined by someone who has been part of her life for more than 25 years — Melissa Sposato Tortora — which means this episode comes with history, stories, laughter, absolutely no filter, and more than a little friendly roasting. Melissa is the kind of woman who makes you wonder if the rest of us are just wasting daylight. She is a shareholder and managing attorney at McCabe, Weisberg & Conway, a proud alumna of Kellenberg Memorial High School, Fairfield University and Hofstra Law School, and has been recognized for her work and dedication to the Crime Victims Center. She is an exceptional mom, a devoted wife, a fiercely loyal friend, and — because apparently attorney, managing shareholder, wife and mother weren’t enough — an often unpaid wedding singer. But this conversation is about much more than Melissa’s résumé. It’s about being a strong woman. Melissa talks about the women and experiences that shaped her, and how her own childhood taught her early on that a woman does not have to choose between being ambitious and being present, between building a career and building a family, or between taking care of everyone else and still having goals of her own. She believes women can have it all — but she’s also honest about what that actually takes. Heather and Melissa get into the reality of work-family balance, marriage, motherhood, careers, friendship, expectations, and the importance of raising the next generation to see strong women not as the exception, but as the standard. And because these two have known each other for more than 25 years, none of this happens without detours. There are old stories. There are people who probably should be nervous that their names came up. There is plenty of making fun of each other — and themselves. And underneath all of the sarcasm and laughter is something much bigger: two women looking back at where they started, everything life threw at them along the way, and the women they became. Melissa is smart, strong, successful, funny, a devoted wife and mother, fiercely committed to the people she loves, and completely unapologetic about wanting a full life. And that feels like exactly the right note on which to end Season One. Strong women. Long friendships. Big careers. Real life. And absolutely no pretending that balancing all of it is easy. That’s a wrap on Season One of Laugh Love Law. Real conversations. Real people. Real impact.
