    11 – Aidan Interview – 3DS Customization and Exuberance

Hey friends, welcome back to 3DSCast. Today we’re going to talk to Aidan (Instagram, Theme Plaza), an artist and creator who utilizes several tools (linked below) to help people customize their 3DS. One of the 3DS family’s greatest abilities is its customization, and there is a ton one can do to make their 2DS/3DS their own. We also discover that we’re both kindred spirits in many ways, and as such go on a billion tangents about how much we love the 3DS and are excited and joyful about so much of it. It’s honestly one of my best and most joyful discussions, and I hope you enjoy it! 10 – My Favorite 3DS/2DS Special Editions

Hello my friends, and welcome to this episode of 3DSCast! Today, as requested by Spiritet93 a little while back I talk about my favorite 3DS and 2DS special editions. Now, I did some researched and looked through dozens of entries — why doesn’t Nintendo do this anymore? — and picked about a dozen, which you’ll find below. I encourage you to look through them as you listen to the episode.  Picture Sources:  EMERGENCY! NEW 3DS BUNDLES! – Animal Crossing: Happy-Home Designer N3DSEvery Nintendo 3DS Variant Ever Released. 09 – “LARPing”, Gatekeeping, and Joy Robbers

Hello my friends, and welcome to another episode of the show! This time I’m back by myself, with a rant about the recent phenomenon of “LARPing,” as some people call it. These people use the term to put others down, and I’m sick of it, so I’m gonna rant about that, gatekeeping, and those who would rob us of our joy. I hope y’all enjoy it.  The post 09 – “LARPing”, Gatekeeping, and Joy Robbers first appeared on 3DSCast.

    08 – dwalker109 Interview – Cloudpoint

Hello my friends, and welcome to another episode of 3DSCast! This time we sit down with dwalker109, creator of the amazing game save cloud backup service, Cloudpoint!  We wax and wane about how amazing the 3DS is, how new dwalker is to the 3DS family, the joy it brings, the challenges in saving its games, and much more. It’s a very fun and, at times, technical discussion, but we love getting in the weeds like that, don’t we? Thank you so much for listening, and we hope  you enjoy the show. Until next time, happy and joyful gaming, and take care of yourselves and your systems. Other Links:Rust 3DS The post 08 – dwalker109 Interview – Cloudpoint first appeared on 3DSCast.

    07 – Sorunome Interview – Netpass

Hello my friends, and welcome to this episode of 3DSCast. In this episode, we sit down with Sorunome, the creator and lead programmer of NetPass!  If you’re unaware, NetPass allows StreetPass data to be exchanged via the Internet, rather than needing to be physically near another 3DS console, which is how it was originally designed. We take a deep dive into how NetPass works, as well as how it uses existing StreetPass protocols to make it work. It’s a fascinating and educational discussion, in which I learned a ton, and I hope you do to. Thanks so much for listening, and enjoy the show! 06 – Luigoalma Interview – A Technical Deep Dive

Hello my friends, and welcome to another episode of 3DSCast! In this one, we have our first interview!! I sit down with Luigoalma, the primary mind behind Cleaninty, which you can read about on GitHub or the Hacks Guide Wiki.  Cleaninty is the software that allows SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) transfers. What this means is if you mod your 3DS, and then change its region, this process allows you to make sure you retain access to your E-Shop account and Nintendo Network ID, or NNID.  We talk about Cleaninty and a whole mess of other technical amazingness. It’s almost a primer for the hardware and software mess that is the 3DS, and the geniuses that worked their way around those messes to create the homebrew mods we use and love today. It’s a very deep dive, one I was fascinated to listen to, as I learned so much. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did, and I thank you for listening! P.S. Apologies for mispronouncing the name of the podcast in the beginning. I’m still new at this.  The post 06 – Luigoalma Interview – A Technical Deep Dive first appeared on 3DSCast.

    03 – Why You Need a 2DS (Even if You Have a 3DS)

Hello my friends, and welcome to this episode of 3DSCast! Today, it’s my intention to convince all and sundry that they need an original 2DS. Not the New 2DS XL, mind you, THAT thing is a piece of crap. No no, the original 2DS. You know, this one: This thing is affectionately called “the doorstop,” even by folks who love it like me. However, it’s my intention that, by the end of this episode, you’ll not only respect this lovely little device, but you’ll want one of your very own, especially as prices are going up, according to PriceCharting. Now is the best time to get one! Thank you for listening, and enjoy! The post 03 – Why You Need a 2DS (Even if You Have a 3DS) first appeared on 3DSCast.

    02 – Why the 3DS?

Hello, and welcome to this second episode of my new podcast, 3DSCast!! In this episode, I’ll talk about why I wanted to cover and talk more about the 3DS family of handhelds (and probably the DS sometimes as well). The 3DS is a remarkable machine with an astounding library. It’s also a machine with personality, with soul. It also is an even more amazing device one it’s hacked. I lay out all of this in this episode, with a hint of what’s to come. Thank you for listening, and I hope you enjoy the show! The post 02 – Why the 3DS? first appeared on 3DSCast.
