The Power of In-Person Healing: What Happened When SIT Came Back to the Stage

Originally, we thought we were going to run a 400-person event, bring the SIT Masterclass to the stage, and have the documentary crew capture something big, polished, and public. And then our bodies said absolutely f*****g not. Panic attacks. Crying. Waking up at 2 a.m. The very clear awareness that something about that version was out of alignment. So we pivoted. Instead of forcing the big shiny thing, we brought it back to the people who already live and breathe this work: our SIT practitioners. And once we made that decision, everything went click, click, click. The event sold out. The right people landed in the room. The documentary crew captured something way more potent than what we could have forced. And SIT came back to the stage in a way that felt raw, alive, sacred, hilarious, emotional, and deeply full-circle. In this episode, we talk about: Why we pivoted from a 400-person event to an intimate advanced practitioner immersionThe difference between forcing the plan and following what actually feels alignedWhat happened when SIT came back to the stage in personHow group healing can amplify one person’s process through the support of the whole roomThe wild synchronicities that unfolded during the live demo healingsWhat it felt like to be supported by the team, clients, and documentary crewWhy in-person connection, hugs, tears, dancing, and shared energy hit differently than ZoomThe lesson around fear, contraction, expansion, and doing the thing before you feel fully readyThis convo is for you if: You've ever been in the middle of planning something and realized your body was screaming, “This is not it.”You're learning the difference between fear that asks you to grow and panic that tells you something's out of alignment. You're a practitioner, coach, healer, facilitator, or heart-centered rebel who feels called to bring your work into the room, but you are scared shitless to actually do it.You've been waiting until you feel perfectly ready, perfectly confident, perfectly clear, or perfectly fearless before you move. You need the reminder that sometimes the magic only shows up once you're in motion. You can’t always think your way into the right plan… Sometimes you have to move, listen, pivot, and trust the click, click, click when it comes. -- If this episode resonated, share it with a fellow renegade. The Price of Nice: What "Kindness" is Costing You

What is the price of nice? No, not kindness. Niceness. The kind of nice that says yes when you mean no. The kind of nice that tells someone what they want to hear instead of what's true. The kind of nice that over-gives, over-explains, over-extends, avoids the hard conversation, and slowly drains the life out of you. In this episode, we talk about the difference between being nice and being kind, and why kindness is often much more direct, honest, clear, and loving than niceness ever could be. Because nice might keep someone comfortable in the moment. But kind tells the truth. We talk about the tiny moments where we avoid saying no, the bigger moments where we let something go on for way too long, and the business moments where “being nice” can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, create entitlement, blur standards, and pull you completely out of your magic. We talk about how this shows up for practitioners, coaches, healers, facilitators, leaders, and anyone who holds space for other people. Because when you avoid the truth in the name of being nice, you're not actually creating safety. You're creating confusion. And sometimes, the kindest thing you can do is hold the boundary, protect the container, tell the truth, and stop pretending that self-abandonment is generosity. In this episode, we discuss: The difference between being nice and being kindWhy people-pleasing can cost you time, energy, money, trust, and self-respectThe Mexico timeshare moment that showed the price of politeness in real timeHow practitioners can over-give because they don’t want to cut clients offWhy protecting the container is a loving actHow Dr. V learned to give truthful feedback because she loves her students and wants them to become bulletproof practitionersThe danger of delegating your magic and moving too far away from the work that only you can doThe “week of no” exercise and how practicing no can help you feel your real yesIf you've ever called yourself “nice” while resenting how much you give away, tune in to this episode. It's for you if: You've said yes when your whole body meant noYou're a practitioner, coach, healer, facilitator, leader, business owner, or human with a nervous system who has confused being loving with being endlessly availableYou're ready to stop proving you're good, nice, generous, easy, chill, or accommodating, and start trusting that your truth is enoughThe goal isn't to become hard. It’s not to become cold. It's not to bulldoze people with your truth and call it honesty. The goal is to become kind enough to stop lying. Kind enough to protect your time. Kind enough to protect the container. Kind enough to say, “No, I do not feel complete.” Kind enough to say, “Please don’t talk to me like that.” Kind enough to give the feedback, hold the standard, and stop betraying yourself in the name of keeping everyone else comfortable. Breaking the Mold (Your Business, Your Way)

We’re talking about breaking the mold. The industry mold. The practitioner mold. The treatment room mold. The “this is just how success is supposed to look” mold. For Dr. V, the standard model of success in acupuncture looked like selling treatment packages, running multiple rooms, maximizing dollars per hour, eventually opening a clinic, hiring practitioners, and building something that looked successful on paper. But that model did not fit the way she was actually here to serve. In this episode, we talk about what happens when the version of success your industry hands you starts to feel rushed, fractured, misaligned, or just not true to who you are. Dr. V shares the vulnerable story of the moment that changed how she practiced acupuncture: leaving a needle in a client’s ankle while trying to run three rooms at once. It was embarrassing, painful, and full of guilt, but it also became a turning point. Because guilt can destroy you if you stay stuck in it. Or it can give you information. And for Dr. V, that moment became the beginning of a completely different way of practicing. One where she stopped fracturing herself across multiple clients, stopped trying to fit the gold-standard model, and started giving one person her full presence, attention, intuition, and energy. That decision looked financially unintelligent from the outside. But it became the thing that made her work unforgettable. Her sessions deepened. Her results changed. Clients started driving hours, flying in, and seeking her out because what she offered was unlike anything they had experienced before. And eventually, breaking the mold in the treatment room became breaking the mold in business. This conversation is about practitioner growth, self-expression, pricing, value, energy, emotional healing, burnout, one-to-one work, group work, digital offers, and the freedom that becomes possible when your business is built around your life instead of your life being built around your business. Because maybe the goal was never to fill your calendar until you resent your work. Maybe the goal is to build something that lets your full capacity come through. In this episode, we talk about:  The standard success model in acupuncture and why it did not fit Dr. V  The vulnerable story of Dr. V accidentally leaving a needle in a client while trying to operate three rooms at once  How guilt became information instead of a life sentence  Why value is not always about time, and why one powerful session can change far more than an hourly rate can hold  The difference between filling your calendar and building a business that actually feels like freedom  Why practitioners, healers, coaches, and creatives need permission to bring more of themselves into their work  What breaking the mold has created for both Dr. V and Ocean: freedom, choice, self-expression, creativity, play, and more impact  Why UpROAR exists for practitioners and creatives who are ready to go rogue in their industry This episode is for you if you have ever looked at the “successful” path in your industry and thought, “This actually feels like a prison.” It is for you if you are a practitioner, healer, coach, facilitator, creative, or service provider who knows the standard model does not fit the way you are here to work. It is for you if you have been trying to squeeze your gifts into a calendar, clinic, session structure, pricing model, or business format that leaves you tired, resentful, rushed, or creatively drained. And it is for you if you are ready to stop asking whether you are allowed to do it differently and start building the thing that actually reflects who you are. If this episode resonated, share it with a fellow renegade. Subscribe and leave a review for your chance to win some swag and a shoutout on the podcast. Un-Troubling: LIVE Name Clearing with Dr. V

Dr. V is doing a live clearing. Right here. Right now. On the podcast. And this one is for our boy, Trouble. If you listened to last week’s episode, you already know the wild, serendipitous, full-circle story of how Trouble came into our lives. This week, we’re taking it deeper by doing a live clearing on his name, the projections placed over him, and the way language can shape the way someone, or something, is seen. Because words create worlds. Names carry meaning. And sometimes, without even realizing it, people speak things over us that start to become cages. In this episode, we talk about Trouble’s first week with us, the way he has already started doing healing work, and why Ocean felt called to clear the energy around his name after noticing how quickly people projected meaning onto him. We also talk about what it feels like to be misunderstood, labelled, scapegoated, called “too much,” or treated like a problem before anyone has actually seen the truth of who you are. And then Dr. V moves into the clearing. This clearing is for Trouble, yes. But it is also for anyone listening who has had words, names, judgments, projections, beliefs, assumptions, or identities placed over them that were never actually theirs. The problem child. The difficult one. The too much one. The troublemaker. The dramatic one. The sensitive one. The one who had to shrink, retreat, prove, perform, explain, or become what other people expected them to be. This episode is about clearing the weight of what was spoken over you, coming back to your own truth, and letting yourself choose who you actually came here to be. In this episode, we talk about: Why Dr. V is doing a live clearing on the podcastHow group healing can still feel deeply personal, even when the clearing is focused on one being, one topic, or one nameWhy Trouble’s name brought up so much around being misunderstood, judged, projected onto, and spoken overOcean’s own experience of being misunderstood, scapegoated, and labelled as the problem childTrouble’s first week with us and the heart-opening impact he has already hadWhat happened when Trouble helped Dr. V release tension, shoulder pain, and emotional heavinessWhy being with animals can create deep co-regulation, safety, and healingThe clearing around being too big, too much, too strong, or taking up too much spaceThe reclamation of Trouble’s name and the possibility of turning “trouble” into power, healing, and purposeHow this clearing may support listeners in releasing the words, names, and projections that have been spoken over themThis episode is for you if you have ever felt misunderstood by the name, role, reputation, or identity other people placed on you. It is for you if you have ever been called too much, too difficult, too sensitive, too dramatic, too intense, too wild, too weird, or too hard to love. It is for you if you have been carrying the weight of someone else’s language in your body, your nervous system, your choices, your relationships, or your sense of self. And it is for you if you are ready to become untroubled. To come back to your own name. Your own truth. Your own resonance. Your own authority. If this episode resonated, share it with a fellow renegade. Subscribe and leave a review for your chance to win some swag and a shoutout on the podcast. Trouble is On the Way (When the past catches up with us)

Trouble is on the way. And yes, Trouble is a horse. In this episode, we talk about synchronicity, serendipity, faith, divine timing, and the moments in life where something you thought was just a passing thought, a childhood memory, a random beach conversation, or a tiny little knock from the universe turns out to be a seed you were planting for your future. We move through our Shadow House season on the Sunshine Coast, the Lighthouse that came after it, the grief of leaving paradise, the pull back to Alberta, the Funnel House, forest fires, soul retrievals, childhood horse camp memories, and the unbelievable timing that led Ocean back to a horse named Trouble. This conversation is about learning the difference between forcing something and following something. Because sometimes life does require effort. Sometimes you do have to check Craigslist every day, make the call, send the message, book the flight, find the hauler, and say yes before you fully know how it’s all going to work. But when something is aligned, there is a click, click, click underneath it. There is movement. There is ease inside the unknown. There is calm inside the uncertainty. And sometimes, the thing you thought was behind you was actually waiting for the exact right moment to come home. In this episode, we talk about: What it feels like when the past catches up with you in a way that is overwhelming, emotional, joyful, scary, and deeply alignedMoving from the Shadow House into the Lighthouse, and how a beachside “imagine living there” moment became reality one year laterWhy we do not always know when a seed is being planted for our futureThe Funnel House, numerology, abundance, and the way certain places can become containers for ideas, business, money, community, and transformationOcean’s childhood horse camp memories and the deep impact of having a safe place to be wild, playful, and around horsesWhy this yes felt calm, easy, and aligned, even with uncertaintyThe difference between one partner’s resistance and one partner’s awarenessWhat it means to be moved by life instead of trying to control every single stepThe next chapter of learning, leadership, horsemanship, trust, energy, and communion with a very big, very badass horseThis episode is for you if you have ever looked back and realized life was planting seeds long before you understood what they were becoming. It is for you if you are in a season where something feels unclear, but a quiet knock keeps coming back. It is for you if you are learning the difference between forcing and following. It is for you if you have ever had to grieve a beautiful chapter while still knowing, deep down, that it was time to go. And it is for you if you need the reminder that sometimes the thing you are being called toward will not make perfect logical sense, but it will feel like truth in your body. When Your Body Says “No More”: Somatic Signals, Spiritual Clearing & the SubSoma Feedback Loop

We’re in a launch-heavy, connection-focused season. Our team is coming together in person, the next SIT Certification cohort is around the corner, UpROAR is opening, and we’re preparing for a live in-person SIT event with a documentary crew capturing the potency of this work in real time. But then, as it often does on this podcast, the conversation goes somewhere deeper. In this episode, we talk about the SubSoma Feedback Loop, the internal “thermostat” that keeps us operating within the patterns, beliefs, symptoms, and emotional realities our bodies have learned to survive inside. We talk about how your behaviour is not random. Your body pain is not random. Your sudden withdrawal, panic, headaches, resistance, shutdown, or need to run is not random. It came from somewhere. And when you can trace that pattern back to the moment, memory, belief, emotion, or energetic imprint that created it, you can begin to change the temperature of your entire system. Dr. V also shares a deeply personal experience from Africa, where a lifelong pattern of night terrors, panic, spiritual disturbance, and feeling like something was taking up space inside of her finally came to the surface. She experienced a spiritual clearing that changed her baseline, her boundaries, her leadership, and her willingness to tolerate what no longer belonged in her body, business, or life. Because sometimes fear is part of expansion. And sometimes panic is your body saying: absolutely f*****g not. In this episode, we talk about: Why in-person healing can create a different kind of serendipity, synchronicity, laughter, and energetic movementWhat the SubSoma Feedback Loop is and why Dr. V describes it like an internal thermostatHow the body can “armor up” when it senses you are stepping into something outside your familiar thermostatOcean’s early experience entering Dr. V’s family system and feeling the somatic data of worthiness, belonging, wealth, safety, and love come to the surfaceDr. V’s lifelong experience with sleepwalking, night terrors, strange energetic disturbances, and feeling like something was taking up space inside of herThe Africa retreat experience that brought the pattern fully to the surfaceThe spiritual clearing that followed and how Dr. V experienced the energy as a lost little boy who was trying to get homeWhy every hard season can build discernment for the next oneThis episode is for you if you have ever wondered why your body reacts before your mind can explain what is happening. It is for you if you have experienced panic, body pain, shutdown, resistance, withdrawal, or sudden emotional intensity and thought, “What the hell is wrong with me?” It is for you if you are a practitioner, healer, intuitive, coach, facilitator, or self-healer who knows there is more going on beneath the surface than most systems have language for. And it is for you if your body has been quietly, loudly, or chaotically trying to tell you: this does not belong here anymore. If this episode resonated, share it with a fellow renegade. The Business Asset That Saved Us From a $200K Launch Disaster

Last year, we had what can only be described as a business NDE (near death experience). We were waking up at 2 a.m. with panic attacks, carrying the weight of a team, contractors, overhead, launch expectations, and a whole lot of “what the f**k are we going to do now?” And the thing that saved us? Not more Instagram followers. Not more social media content. Not a viral post. Our email list. In this episode, we talk about the most valuable asset in our business, why owned media matters more than borrowed audiences, and how our email list helped us resuscitate a launch when our paid ads got shut down. We also break down the difference between paid, earned, borrowed, and owned media, and why practitioners, healers, coaches, creatives, and business owners need to stop relying only on social media, ads, clinic-owned booking systems, or platforms they do not control. Because if your Instagram gets locked, your Facebook group disappears, your ad account stops working, or your clinic owns all your client information, what do you actually have? This episode is a mini business masterclass for the ones who are ready to stop building on borrowed land. Your email list is not optional. It is not a “one day” thing. It might be the thing that saves your business. In this episode, we talk about: The business near-death experience that happened during a major launchHow our Facebook ad account got locked when we were expecting a $200K launchThe difference between paid, earned, borrowed, and owned mediaWhy social media followers, Facebook groups, YouTube subscribers, and paid ad audiences are not truly yours unless you have captured an email or phone numberHow our owned email audience helped us generate $160K when our paid ads were not workingHow Dr. V sold her acupuncture practice, charts, goodwill, and email list, and why that asset was so valuableHow ROAR Funnels helped Dr. V launch a six-week offer while we were travelling in AfricaThe simple email system every practitioner should start with: who you are, what your mission is, and what your audience is struggling withThis episode is for you if you are a practitioner, healer, coach, creative, facilitator, or entrepreneur who knows you need a more stable way to reach your people. It is for you if you want to launch a retreat, course, membership, program, masterclass, or new offer, but you do not currently have a simple way to email the people who already know, like, and trust you. And it is for you if you have been building on borrowed land and you are ready to create something you actually own. How to Forgive the Unforgivable

We’re going straight into one of the biggest, hardest, most life-changing conversations we can have: forgiveness. Not cute forgiveness. Not spiritual bypass forgiveness. Not “just let it go” forgiveness. The real kind. The kind that asks: how the f**k do you forgive something that feels unforgivable? How do you forgive betrayal, abuse, harm, projection, pain, and the darkest parts of humanity? In this episode, we talk about forgiveness as one of the most powerful forces for emotional healing, self-liberation, and root cause transformation. Ocean shares how forgiveness changed every facet of her life, from shame, guilt, self-punishment, smoking, drinking, and self-abusive patterns, to the kind of freedom that allowed her to stop carrying pain that was never hers to begin with. We also talk about her relationship with her dad, the pain of coming out as queer and being rejected, the deeper family story that helped her understand the shame he was carrying, and the moment forgiveness became less about excusing what happened and more about releasing herself from the story. Because forgiveness is not saying what happened was okay. It is not saying you need to let someone back into your life. It is not pretending you are not angry, grieving, heartbroken, or still working through complex feelings. Forgiveness is the moment you stop electrocuting yourself with the thing you are still holding onto. In this episode, we talk about: Why forgiveness is one of Ocean’s favourite topics and one of the biggest things that changed her lifeWhat life looked like before forgiveness, including shame, guilt, smoking, drinking, self-punishment, and relationships that reflected old woundsThe subconscious programs of self-abuse, self-punishment, and not believing you deserve forgivenessHow beliefs and emotions can create an energetic resonance that gets reflected back through relationships, circumstances, and patternsHow children can internalize a caregiver’s inability to protect or be present as proof that they are not worthy of loveThe mirror metaphor: when someone projects pain at you, sometimes the first step is taking two steps to the side and realizing it was never actually about youWhy forgiveness often has layers in front of it, including resentment, betrayal, heartbreak, anger, grief, and self-protectionHow SIT helps identify the beliefs, memories, trauma, and emotional data locked in the somaHow forgiveness has led to some of the most powerful healing shifts they have witnessed through SITWhy learning to read the signals in the soma can move practitioners from managing symptoms to liberating people on a life levelThis episode is for you if you have been carrying something you do not know how to put down. It is for you if you are tired of hearing people talk about forgiveness like it is easy, fluffy, or one-size-fits-all. It is for you if you are a practitioner, healer, facilitator, coach, or self-healer who wants to understand what forgiveness can actually unlock when it is approached with truth, safety, emotional intelligence, and deep presence. And it is for you if some part of you is ready to stop punishing yourself for something that was never yours to carry. If this episode resonated, share it with a fellow renegade.
