This week, we’re heading to Springfield, getting lost in video game maps, debating GTA VI consoles and somehow connecting gritty crime dramas with fantasy anime. It makes sense when I explain it. Probably. 🍩 THE SIMPSONS SEASON 14 — THE ULTIMATE TIER LIST Springfield is back under the microscope as I rank The Simpsons’ fourteenth season. Which episodes deserve the top tier, and which are getting a disappointed look across the sofa? Bring your own rankings and tell me where you disagree with my clearly flawless judgement. 🗺️ GUESS THE GAME… FROM THE MAP! No characters. No gameplay. We look at the movers, the shakers and the films giving us something to talk about at the box office. 🥊 STREET FIGHTER — CRITICS vs THE CROWD? We discuss the critical reaction to Street Fighter and whether audiences will see things differently. I’m still looking forward to it—but will it land a knockout or leave me staring at the screen waiting for another credit? 🧝 FRIEREN, DELICIOUS IN DUNGEON & SHANGRI-LA FRONTIER Our regular anime conversation returns with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Delicious in Dungeon and Shangri-La Frontier! Somehow, my comparison of Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon leads us back to MobLand versus The Gentlemen. An unusual combination? Absolutely. But there are some interesting points connecting them. Meanwhile, Shangri-La Frontier continues to deliver the fun, adventure and sense of discovery I love. I’m enjoying the journey—and I can’t wait to see where it takes us next. ⚽ SCUNTHORPE UNITED — WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON? A quick word on Scunthorpe United and why I still believe in our manager. Will someone finally take my crown, or will we discover that all those hours playing games were, in fact, essential academic research? We’re also checking back in with our boy Kelbrooke, taking a look at his website and watching a couple of adverts I made for him. Expect creativity, commentary and the completely impartial judgement of the person who made the adverts. Next, we get into the latest episode and season of MobLand. This show has me hooked—but how does it stack up against The Gentlemen? Which delivers the better characters, bigger thrills and more gloriously terrible people?     Can You Beat My PERFECT Tier List? Simpsons, GTA 6 & Movie Mayhem | hEaD Pop Ep. 12

    Think you’ve got better taste than me? Lovely. Let’s put that very confident mistake to the test. This week on hEaD Pop, we’re throwing down the ultimate challenge: The Simpsons Season 12 tier list and a TV’s craziest moments quiz. Can anyone beat me? Will somebody finally challenge my list of perfection? Or will we discover, once again, that democracy is a terrible way to rank television? Then we step into the ring with the upcoming Street Fighter film. Can it outdo the ’90s movie? Will it capture what makes the games so much fun? And where could it land among the great, the disappointing and the “who approved this?” world of video game adaptations? Next up: Resident Evil. It’s making an impact at the box office, and I had a great time watching it. But how does it hold up for people who know the games? I’m coming at this mainly as a movie viewer, while the players I know have questions about its faithfulness. Can a film win you over even when its source material fans aren’t completely convinced? Let’s get into it. We’re also digging into GTA VI details, what we have to look forward to, and my personal wish list. What could make this world feel fresh? What would I love to see added? Expect excitement, speculation and demands from a man who has contributed absolutely nothing to the development process. And then comes my latest anime obsession: Shangri-La Frontier. Come and prove it. 👕 Check out KELBROOKE: kelbrooke.com This week on hEaD Pop, we’re throwing down the ultimate ranking challenge with a The Simpsons Season 11 tier list and a TV shows tier quiz. Can anyone beat me? Will somebody finally challenge my list of perfection? Or will we once again discover that everyone’s entitled to an opinion, even when it’s tragically different from mine? Then it’s time for zombies, questionable decisions and my verdict on Resident Evil: a solid 7/10. It made me laugh, made me smile, got a few “oohs” out of me and possibly scared me a little. I’m judging it as a film rather than comparing it with the games, because I’m not a big Resident Evil gamer. Did I have a good time? Absolutely. Sometimes that’s enough. We also get into the talk of Rockstar’s $400 box of goodies. No game? No soundtrack? What exactly are we paying for here—the privilege of owning the box? With GTA 6 hype this big, I reckon it’ll sell out anyway. Let’s discuss. Next up: Heat 2. Can a follow-up deliver? Before we get there, I’ve got a critique of the original Heat that might make a few people reach for the comments section. It’s my opinion, and I suspect I’m about to find out just how unpopular it is. The arguments continue with two big matchups: • The Gentlemen vs MobLand — which one deserves the crown? • Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End vs Delicious in Dungeon — which fantasy adventure comes out on top? I know my winners. I’m sure you’ll all respond calmly and respectfully. Plus, we check in with Kelbrooke, as always, and get into plenty more along the way. Will anyone EVER topple my list of absolute perfection? You’re welcome to try. Just bring your best arguments and a healthy tolerance for sarcasm. This week on hEaD Pop, we’re challenging you to our ultimate tier-list showdown: The Simpsons games are getting ranked, and our TV-show tier quiz is ready to expose the difference between “I watch a lot of telly” and “I actually know what I’m talking about.” Expect controversial placements, unnecessary confidence and at least one opinion that should probably come with an apology. We’re also taking another look at KELBROOKE, before getting into The Gentlemen season two. For me, it’s absolutely superb and right up there with season one. And that music? I loved it. It gives me Casino and The Godfather Part II vibes — the sort of soundtrack that makes a perfectly ordinary walk to the fridge feel like organised crime. Then it’s time for GTA 6 and a physical-media debate: talk of a physical soundtrack release has me asking what we actually want to own when we buy a game. Give me the box. Give me the disc. Let me dramatically place something on a shelf. We’re also discussing The Fall 2. Enjoyable? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes. Am I rushing to watch it again? Probably not. Sometimes a film gets one visit, a polite handshake and no invitation to stay. And then comes the anime dilemma: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End versus Delicious in Dungeon. Two brilliant shows, one deeply unreliable decision-maker. Delicious in Dungeon is one of my absolute favourites, and the anticipation for season two isn’t helping me stay impartial. But which anime takes the top spot? I have an answer. It may change before I finish the sentence. Then we take another look at KELBROOKE before diving into GTA 6 and the questions putting everyone’s patience—and wallets—to the test. Could it arrive on Game Pass at release? And would custom GTA 6-themed PlayStation 5 controllers tempt you into buying yet another controller when the ones you own work perfectly well? Finally, we sharpen our claws for Wolverine and take a good look at the state of gaming on PlayStation. Is it really that bad, or has complaining become the game everyone’s playing?
