😡 A Burning Match Across the Bay Imagine you’re running a lighthouse during a perfect nor’easter, and your helper brings you ruined feed for your birds. And just like that, you snap. You let out a quick, thoughtless spark. Then you watch as that one little spark flies across the bay and starts a total wildfire of chaos and confusion. Suddenly, because of your words, a boat is in trouble. Phew. That is exactly where our main character, Eliza, finds herself in today’s story, “The Light Keeper of Pebble Cove.” This is a tricky, high-seas lesson on realizing that once we drop a spark of unkindness, we can’t exactly gather the smoke back up. We talk a lot with our girls about choices, but in the heat of a frustrating moment, it is so hard to choose the slow, intentional ‘honeycomb’ words over the fast, emotional, ‘fire’ words. Today, we’re walking alongside Eliza as she learns how life-saving kind, clear, encouraging words can be—especially when the sea gets rough.
