It’s amazing how quickly a room full of complaining or a friend’s bad mood can start to heavy up a young girl's heart. We can't always control the atmosphere around our kids, but we can teach them how to carry their own light! Today, we're giving your girls practical tools to stand steady in their joy so they can transform the mood around them instead of letting it drag them down. Our girls don’t create their own light out of nowhere, but when they spend time with God, they soak up His love and truth until they naturally glow! So today, we’re reminding them that when the world around them feels dim or cranky, they don’t have to let the dark soak into their hearts. They get to choose to pull out their lantern! Thank you for letting me partner with you as you equip your girls to shine steady, choose kindness, and flourish in God’s light! 🔍 How to Listen & Engage Today: * Listen: Tune in directly through our Substack Seed & Star Hub, or pull it up on your favorite podcast player while you fold laundry, craft, or drive to co-op! * Engage: Print out our freebie “Bright Idea” activity sheet ahead of time. This week, your daughter’s mission is to be an official Light-Spreader! When a “dim moment” pops up—like a room full of grumbling, a sibling who needs help, or someone sitting alone—she can practice pulling out her light with a simple, unexpected act of kindness. As she writes down those acts of encouragement (like making a bed without being asked or leaving a sweet sticky note) and colors in a lantern every time she brightens someone’s day, she’ll see how her little flame can make a big difference—again and again! * Keep the Truth Rolling: Every morning this week, whenever your girl starts her day—or feels tempted to join in on the grumbling around her—encourage her to pause and remember this truth: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 💬 I’d Love to Hear From You! Once you and your girls have listened, I would love to hear how she’s being a Light-Spreader this week! What unexpected acts of kindness did she decide to sprinkle around your home? You can reply directly to this email or leave a comment below to share a picture of her finished mission page! 🤩 THANK YOU for choosing to spend your time with me here today and for allowing me to hang out with your family in such a meaningful way. 🥀 Story Time 4: Pip and the Whispering Meadow ✨

Too Sweet to be True? 🍯👀 In today’s story, Pip and the Whispering Meadow, we’re following Pip the bee into the clover fields! Pip is facing a pretty big temptation: the super-sweet, super-popular Velvet Blooms. They look amazing and everyone seems to be buzzing about them, but their nectar comes with a sneaky catch—it makes bees act sassy, tense, and downright mean to their hive! Good thing Pip remembers the golden rule of the garden and learns how to be a wise “gatekeeper” over what she lets inside her heart. This story goes hand-in-hand with Episode 4: Guarding the Soil! 🌱🖨️✨ Grab Your Story Time Printables! Want to turn this cozy story into a hands-on activity? Here for the freebie? Grab our free, custom Heart’s Gate Activity Sheet for Episode 4! Your girls can write God’s promises on the signs to guard the gate, and fill the garden with blooming flowers every time they successfully block a weed! 👉 [Download the Free Episode 4 Flight Path Sheet Here] * Want to go deeper? ✨ Grab the Premium Companion Bundle over on Payhip for the complete weekly experience! It includes the adorable Pip & Commander Higgins coloring page, guided journaling, scripture copywork pages (Proverbs 4:23), extension activities, a Grown-Up Guide, and more—all for just $3! 👉 [Get the Premium Episode 4 Bundle on Payhip] 🪞 Reflection Questions: Just hit that pause button to make some time to chat: * Spotting the Velvet Blooms: Pip noticed that the Velvet Blooms looked popular, right? But they made her act sassy and feel heavy inside. Is there something that you’ve run into lately—like maybe a song, game, video channel, or conversation—that left your heart feeling a little grumpy, anxious, or discontented? * Closing the Gate: Commander Higgins told Pip that she didn’t even have to visit a flower if she knew it was toxic. What does it look like for us to be “proactive protectors” and close our heart’s gate before those bad attitude seeds can walk right in? * Guarding the Soil: Open up the Bible to Proverbs 4:23 together! Why do you think God says that everything we do flows straight out of our hearts? What is one way we can help each other guard our soil this week? 🤗 BTW - I’d Love to See What You Create! Reply directly to this email or drop a comment below to share a photo of your girl’s activity page/coloring sheet or tell me how they liked meeting Pip! 🛡️ Ep. 4: Guarding the Soil 🌱✨

🥾 Muddy Boots Stay Outside!🛡️ Building blanket forts was easily one of my all time favorite childhood pastimes. They were cozy, sacred spaces that typically involved copious amounts of bedding, about 75 stuffies, and my dad’s wooden sawhorses from the shed. Clearly, they were a shoes-off kind of venue—no muddy boots allowed! In this episode, we’re making sure those boots stay at the door and learning how to take care of the most valuable, secret garden you’ll ever own—the one hidden right inside your heart! We’re talking about sneaky weed seeds like attitude, discontentment, and fear, and discovering how to step up as the ultimate gatekeeper of your heart’s garden. Today, we’re handing your girls a pair of digital “gardening gloves”! In a world that throws non-stop messages, media, and opinions at our kids, let’s teach them how to filter what stays and what goes. The world is constantly dropping sneaky little seeds into our girls’ lives through what they see and hear. But God didn’t leave them helpless! Today, we’re reminding them that they are the official boss of their heart’s gate. They don’t have to let every uninvited guest make itself at home. Thank you for letting me partner with you as you equip your girls to protect their peace, keep out the weeds, and flourish in God’s truth! 🔍 How to Listen & Engage Today: * Listen: Tune in directly through our Substack Seed & Star Hub, or pull it up on your favorite podcast player while you fold laundry, craft, or drive to co-op! * Engage: Print out “The Heart’s Gate” activity sheet ahead of time. This week, your daughter’s mission is to be an official Gatekeeper. When a “weed moment” pops up—like a grumpy chore moment (looking at you, runaway craft beads!), feeling left out, or hearing a rude comment—she can practice slamming her heart’s gate shut and asking God for help. As she writes God’s true promises on her gate (like “I am loved” or “God is my safe place”) and colors in a flower every time she locks a weed seed out, she’ll get a visual picture of how bright her heart’s garden stays when she guards her soil on purpose! * Keep the Truth Rolling: Every morning this week, whenever your daughter starts her day—or feels a heavy or prickly thought trying to sneak into her mind—encourage her to pause and remember this truth: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23 💬 I’d Love to Hear From You! 🪾Story Time 3: The Mystery of the Mighty Mountain Oak ✨

🛘 Atop The Great Craggy Peak... Have you ever had one of those days where every single thing felt completely uphill, super hard, and made you just want to throw your hands up and say, “Nope! I quit!”? In this week’s Story Time episode, we are traveling high up to the Great Craggy Peak to meet a remarkably stubborn little mountain oak seedling named Sylvie! She’s tired of cold gusts, hard granite, and looking down at the pampered, picture-perfect trees in the sunny valley below. Good thing her ancient, weathered neighbor Beatrice is nearby with deep wisdom, twisted branches, and a spectacular secret underneath the cliff to show Sylvie that the hardest rocks are actually building an “Out of Sight Strength” underground! This story goes hand-in-hand with Episode 3: The Roots of Resilience! 🌱🖨️✨ Grab Your Story Time Printables! Want to turn this cozy story into a hands-on activity? Here for the freebie? It includes the beautiful Great Craggy Peak coloring sheet, a guided journaling page, scripture copywork pages, extension activities, and a grown-up guide—all for just $3! 👉 [Get the Premium Episode 3 Bundle on Payhip] 🪞 Reflection Questions: Just hit that pause button to make some time to chat: * First up—think about Sylvie. She felt totally overwhelmed when the granite rock was too hard and the storm started blowing sideways. What is one specific “mountain storm” or hard task that you’ve run into recently that made you want to just throw your hands up and quit? * Next up, let’s talk about Beatrice. Her trunk was twisted and weathered, but her roots made her practically unbreakable. What do you think it looks like for us to look at a difficult day as a chance to grow deep roots like Beatrice, instead of just being a bad day? * And finally, go ahead and open up your Bible to Jeremiah 17:8. What is one cozy, rock-solid promise from God that you can wrap your heart around like a strong anchor the next time things get tough? 🤗 BTW - I’d Love to See Your Root Trackers! Reply directly to this email or drop a comment below to share a photo of your girl’s completed root page or tell me how they liked meeting Sylvie and Beatrice! THANK YOU for opening your heart and home to Seed & Star this week! If you’ve been sitting at your kitchen table, over-caffeinating (like that’s even a thing), and wondering how to help your daughters navigate the loud, confusing messages the world is throwing at them about who they are... I am right there with you. Figuratively, of course, but I totally wish that I could be there in person, too! Raising these awesome little disciples is undoubtedly Kingdom work, and that’s why I’m here - in your inbox and in your child’s ear - to help you in this oh-so-important mission by sharing some faith-filled encouragement with your daughters - the same encouragement that I’ve been collecting to share with my own (mom of 3 girls, here! 💖💖💖) 💡 A BIT OF INSIDE INFO: As a homeschool mom with a background in child & adolescent development, this project has been on my heart for many years. It began as a little speck of an idea that first popped up after reading an article about the confidence gap that appears in young girls around the age of 8. Not cool… The idea eventually grew into what might have been a physical resource for independently building confidence. But something was missing, so it never really came together… Then, in a rare moment of crochet, quiet, and clarity, God kind of smacked me in the face with this idea. Because, much to my embarrassment, HE is clearly what was missing (insert facepalm here…) And now I get to welcome you here, to Seed & Star, a cozy space built to gather our girls, ground them in truth, and remind them that they are beautifully and intentionally made by a loving Creator. 🔍 How to Listen & Engage Today: * 1. Listen: Click the play button at the top of this email to listen directly through our Substack Seed & Star Hub, or pull it up on your favorite podcast player while you bake, craft, or drive to school or co-op! Easy peasy 🙌 * 2. Engage: Print out your companion activity sheet(s) ahead of time so your girls can interact with the lesson in real time. * 3. Keep the Truth Rolling: Every morning this week, before your daughter even eats breakfast, have her say this out loud to herself: “I am God’s masterpiece.” 💬 I’d Love to Hear From You! This is a community, which means I don’t want to be the only voice in the room! Once you and your girls have listened, I would love to see their artwork and hear their thoughts.
