🥾 Muddy Boots Stay Outside!🛡️ Building blanket forts was easily one of my all time favorite childhood pastimes. They were cozy, sacred spaces that typically involved copious amounts of bedding, about 75 stuffies, and my dad’s wooden sawhorses from the shed. Clearly, they were a shoes-off kind of venue—no muddy boots allowed! In this episode, we’re making sure those boots stay at the door and learning how to take care of the most valuable, secret garden you’ll ever own—the one hidden right inside your heart! We’re talking about sneaky weed seeds like attitude, discontentment, and fear, and discovering how to step up as the ultimate gatekeeper of your heart’s garden. Today, we’re handing your girls a pair of digital “gardening gloves”! In a world that throws non-stop messages, media, and opinions at our kids, let’s teach them how to filter what stays and what goes. The world is constantly dropping sneaky little seeds into our girls’ lives through what they see and hear. But God didn’t leave them helpless! Today, we’re reminding them that they are the official boss of their heart’s gate. They don’t have to let every uninvited guest make itself at home. Thank you for letting me partner with you as you equip your girls to protect their peace, keep out the weeds, and flourish in God’s truth! 🔍 How to Listen & Engage Today: * Listen: Tune in directly through our Substack Seed & Star Hub, or pull it up on your favorite podcast player while you fold laundry, craft, or drive to co-op! * Engage: Print out “The Heart’s Gate” activity sheet ahead of time. This week, your daughter’s mission is to be an official Gatekeeper. When a “weed moment” pops up—like a grumpy chore moment (looking at you, runaway craft beads!), feeling left out, or hearing a rude comment—she can practice slamming her heart’s gate shut and asking God for help. As she writes God’s true promises on her gate (like “I am loved” or “God is my safe place”) and colors in a flower every time she locks a weed seed out, she’ll get a visual picture of how bright her heart’s garden stays when she guards her soil on purpose! * Keep the Truth Rolling: Every morning this week, whenever your daughter starts her day—or feels a heavy or prickly thought trying to sneak into her mind—encourage her to pause and remember this truth: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23 💬 I’d Love to Hear From You! Once you and your girls have listened, I would love to hear how she’s guarding her heart’s gate this week! Did she decide to shut the gate on a sketchy show, a noisy game, or a weed of worry? You can reply directly to this email or leave a comment below to share a picture of her finished mission page! 🤩 THANK YOU for choosing to spend your time with me here today and for allowing me to hang out with your family in such a meaningful way. Gather your girls, take a deep breath, and remember—you were made for this! So long, and stay bright! Amanda Host of Seed & Star This is a public episode.
