    College Athletics Recruiting: What VCS Student-Athletes and Families Need to Know

    Has the college athletics recruiting process ever felt confusing or overwhelming? Are you wondering whether your student-athlete is getting the right exposure, doing the right things, or starting early enough? How much do grades matter, when can coaches begin communicating with students, and what should families be doing now to prepare? The college athletics recruiting landscape can feel complicated, but VCS families do not have to navigate it alone. In this special presentation, Alina Lance, Associate Athletic Director at Sacramento State, explains what student-athletes and parents should understand about NCAA eligibility, academic preparation, recruiting timelines, scholarships, college communication, and the rapidly changing world of collegiate athletics. The presentation also features Alicia Borges, VCS Head Volleyball Coach and SportsRecruits Program Lead, sharing how VCS works directly with student-athletes through individualized guidance and access to SportsRecruits. Families will learn how students can build recruiting profiles, share film, identify realistic college opportunities, communicate with coaches, and receive support throughout the process. This conversation illustrates one of the distinct advantages of pursuing athletics at VCS. Our students receive competitive opportunities along with the personal mentorship, academic guidance, recruiting resources, and individual attention that can be much harder to find at a larger school.     Meet Our New VCS Secondary Principal, Michelle Reynolds | Inside the VCS Experience

    Meet Michelle Reynolds, the new Secondary Principal at Vacaville Christian Schools! In this episode of Inside the VCS Experience, Head of School Ben Davis meets with Michelle, who shares more about her background, the experiences that shaped her as an educator and leader, and what drew her to VCS. Drawing from her extensive experience with Christian education (and most recently with IB - International Baccalaureate - education), Michelle discusses the importance of academic rigor, critical thinking, and preparing students to engage thoughtfully with complex ideas. She also shares her vision for strengthening the secondary program holistically while continuing to pursue excellence across the entire student experience. Michelle shares with Ben and families the strengths she sees in our middle and high school programs, what excellence looks like for students and teachers, and her vision for helping every student grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
