    Preparation: The Bridge Between Wanting and Doing

    Preparation is more than making a plan. In Episode 5 of For the Greater Good, I talk about what preparation looks like for me — from capturing an idea and understanding the “why”, to planning ahead, preparing guests, marketing and learning as I go. But there’s another side to preparation that we don’t always talk about: preparing yourself mentally for the next step. Because you can have the plan, the equipment and everything organised… and still not feel ready. I’m not a life coach or a mental health or psychology professional. I’m simply sharing what I’ve learned through 39 years of life experience, and how I’m using those lessons to shape where I go next. If something from my journey helps even one or two people with theirs, then it’s worth sharing. You don’t have to wait until you feel 100% ready. Know yourself. Prepare for yourself. Then take the next step.

    Dreams /Choosing your self

    In Episode 4 of For the Greater Good, I share how I’m choosing myself each and every day as I work towards bringing my dreams into reality. I’m learning to remain present, looking back only for inspiration and growth. I believe we all have a dream, no matter how big or small, that we would love to bring into our reality and it may be more achievable than we think. Throughout this episode, I reflect on recognising your dreams, believing that they are possible and taking meaningful steps towards them. I’m using my own journey as an example in the hope that it inspires and helps someone, just as others have inspired and helped me. What is your dream and what step could you take towards it today?

    Sonny: Business, Resilience and Community | Episode 3

    In Episode 3 of For the Greater Good, I welcome my first guest, Sonny, for an open and personal conversation about business, sacrifice, resilience and community. Sonny reflects on more than two decades in Bournemouth’s hospitality industry, including the risks he took to help fund the beginning of DNA, the challenges of keeping a business going, and the lessons he has learned along the way. He also speaks honestly about his experience with cancer, facing an uncertain prognosis during COVID, and how surviving serious illness changed his outlook on life, success and the future. This episode goes beyond the business and introduces the person behind it. It is a story about backing yourself, continuing through difficult circumstances and understanding what truly matters.
