    DEFENSIVE DISASTER: Cowboys Make Jaxson Dart Look ELITE — Christian Parker MUST Adjust

    The Dallas Cowboys defense FAILED its first test of the 2026 NFL season. On this postgame edition of Locked On Cowboys Hit Podcast, host James Duncan reacts to a brutal defensive performance against Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants — and explains why defensive coordinator Christian Parker needs to make immediate adjustments. Christian Parker called Week 1 “graduation day” after an entire offseason installing his new Cowboys defense. Well… Dallas failed the exam. Jaxson Dart completed 23-of-29 passes with three touchdowns and ZERO interceptions as the Giants piled up 396 total yards and controlled possession for nearly 37 minutes. And James has one immediate suggestion for Christian Parker: GET UPSTAIRS. Dallas invested heavily in rebuilding this defense around Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, Rashan Gary, Von Miller, Caleb Downs, Malachi Lawrence and Shavon Revel Jr. But against the Giants, Dart looked far too comfortable. Dallas wanted to stop the run, create third-and-long situations, disguise coverages and force the young quarterback into mistakes. Instead, New York controlled the football, ran 68 offensive plays and consistently kept Dart in manageable situations. Cam Skattebo rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown, while Dart added another 56 yards with his legs. The Cowboys couldn't consistently create the obvious passing situations needed to unleash their revamped pass rush. “Christian Parker called this graduation day. The Cowboys defense just got sent back to summer school.” Then there are serious questions in the Cowboys secondary. Malik Hooker exited the game with an injury, giving Dallas another situation to monitor moving forward. But the biggest problem wasn't Malik Nabers. It was Isaiah Likely. Likely torched the Cowboys defense for eight receptions, 78 yards and TWO touchdowns, repeatedly creating problems for Dallas in coverage. Nabers finished with six catches for 69 yards, but the Cowboys never found an answer for Likely. Was it the scheme? Communication? Linebacker and safety coverage? Or does Dallas have a bigger personnel problem than Cowboys fans expected?
