    You Say You’re Rich—But Are You Spiritually Poor? Revelation 3 & the Condition of the Heart | Part 2 | Daily Bread

    Can someone possess money, property, and possessions—and still be poor? Can someone believe they see clearly—and actually be spiritually blind? Can someone appear covered outwardly—and be spiritually naked? Part 2 of this Daily Bread study turns the examination inward through Revelation 3:17–18, Jeremiah 17:9–10, and Psalm 101. After examining the poor and needy in Part 1, The Mandated Reporter follows Jesus’ words to those who say: “I am rich… and have need of nothing.” Yet Jesus describes a very different condition: wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and: naked. The study then examines the meanings associated with: poor, needy, rich, wealth, miserable, blind, wretched, and: naked, showing how outward circumstances do not necessarily reveal the true condition of a person. Someone may possess much yet lack: contentment, perception, moral strength, covering, or: spiritual sight. Jeremiah 17 brings the examination to the heart, while Psalm 101 closes the teaching with David’s standard for: what he will set before his eyes, who will dwell with him, who will serve with him, and: what he refuses to allow to fasten itself to his life.     The Poor Are Always With You”—What Did Jesus Mean? Matthew 25, 26 & the Alabaster Box | Part 1 | Daily Bread

    What did Jesus mean when He said, “You always have the poor with you”? In Part 1 of this Daily Bread study, The Mandated Reporter begins in Psalm 101 with David’s declaration that he will set no worthless thing before his eyes. That phrase opens a Scripture trail through Deuteronomy 15, Matthew 25, Proverbs 19, and Matthew 26 concerning: the poor, the needy, generosity, honor, covering, fellowship, and: our responsibility toward those who lack something we have been entrusted with. Deuteronomy warns against allowing the eye to become hostile toward a poor brother. Matthew 25 brings the principle into the words of Jesus: when we feed, give drink, welcome, clothe, visit, and: care for the least, we are doing it unto Him. The teaching then considers these acts on both natural and spiritual levels, including prayer as covering, fellowship as sharing bread, welcoming people into the Body, and helping people who need healing and deliverance. From there, the study arrives at the woman with the alabaster box. The disciples see an expensive perfume that could have been sold and given to the poor. Jesus sees something they have not yet perceived. The episode examines the value of her offering and its connection with preparing Jesus for His burial as King. The central question becomes: Are we seeing people, needs, and acts of obedience the way YAH sees them—or only according to outward appearance?     The Lamp of the Temple | Stand in the Gap: Halloween, Intercession, Incense & Unholy Communion | Luke 1:9 | Daily Bread

    What if October 31 is not merely a day to avoid—but a day for believers to take their place in intercession? In this urgent episode of Daily Bread, The Mandated Reporter begins in Luke 1:9, where Zacharias is chosen by lot to enter the temple and burn incense. What begins as a study of priestly responsibility opens into a larger message about: intercession, incense, prayer, standing in the gap, offerings, communion, covenant, and: the responsibility of YAH’s people to pray on behalf of others. The study moves through Luke 1, Exodus 30, and Leviticus 2, examining the imagery of incense and several biblical offerings, including the burnt offering, grain offering, and peace offering.
