96% of American Christians Aren’t Real Christians According to George Barna

Is America really experiencing a Christian revival, or are we witnessing a spiritual crisis inside the American Church? According to George Barna's shocking 2026 research from Arizona Christian University's Cultural Research Center, only 4% of American adults have a biblical worldview, meaning 96% do not meet his criteria for biblical beliefs and behavior. Even more alarming, only 11% of evangelical Protestant church attendees and 12% of theologically defined born-again Christians qualify as having a biblical worldview. Despite rising Bible sales, increased church attendance, high-profile celebrity baptisms, and renewed interest in Christianity following Charlie Kirk's assassination, Barna's research raises serious questions about whether America is experiencing genuine spiritual revival. In this video, Joshua Simone of Torn Curtain examines George Barna's findings, the decline of biblical literacy, the influence of secular culture, and why so many professing Christians are failing to live according to Scripture. Is the American Church producing genuine born-again disciples of Jesus Christ, or simply attracting larger crowds? We examine George Barna's seven cornerstones of a biblical worldview, the spiritual condition of younger generations, the alarming lack of biblical understanding among pastors, and the difference between religious activity and genuine revival. We also discuss comments from Ray Comfort, megachurch pastor Josh Howerton, and other Christian leaders about whether America is experiencing a great spiritual awakening. Jesus said that if we love Him, we will obey His commandments (John 14:15), and James reminds us that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). The American Church desperately needs repentance, sound biblical doctrine, genuine discipleship, and a return to the authority of God's Word. It's time to stop allowing culture to shape our Christianity and start allowing Scripture to transform our lives. Prophet Israel Ford of LifeWorks Church Has Taken a Second Wife Has Polygamous Marriage

A Cleveland, Ohio, pastor has shocked his congregation and sparked controversy across the Christian community after publicly announcing that he has taken a second wife! Pastor and self-proclaimed prophet Israel Ford of LifeWorks Church stood before his congregation as his first wife, Lydia Ford, introduced Shakayla Ford as her husband's second wife. Even more shocking, Pastor Ford claims that requiring a man to have only one wife is unbiblical, citing Old Testament Scripture to defend his polygamous marriage. In this video, Joshua Simone of Torn Curtain examines the controversial church announcement, plays the full four-minute video, and investigates whether polygamy is biblical. Can a Christian pastor have two wives? Does the Bible permit polygamy? And why would a pastor openly defend having multiple wives while leading a Christian congregation? What does the Bible really teach about polygamy, marriage, adultery, and the qualifications of a pastor? While Old Testament figures such as Abraham, Jacob, David, and Solomon had multiple wives, does that mean God approves of polygamy in the New Testament church? We examine Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4–6, Exodus 21:10, 1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:6, and Ephesians 5 to understand God's original design for marriage and why the Apostle Paul instructed church leaders to be the husband of one wife. Joshua challenges Pastor Israel Ford's biblical interpretation and explains why he believes all three individuals are participating in a sinful relationship that requires repentance. This controversy raises serious questions about false teaching, prophetic authority, biblical accountability, sexual morality, and the growing need for reformation within the Charismatic and Pentecostal church. Are we following the teachings of Jesus Christ or using Old Testament examples to justify modern-day sin? Carl Lentz New Book Overcoming Infidelity: He Believe He is Qualified to Be a Pastor Again

Former Hillsong NYC pastor Carl Lentz is back in the spotlight with his new book, Overcoming Infidelity: 10 Conversations to Help Heal the Hurt, co-written with his wife, Laura Lentz. After the shocking infidelity scandal that led to his removal from Hillsong Church in 2020, Carl and Laura are now making the rounds on major podcasts, discussing their marriage, betrayal, forgiveness, and restoration. But should a disgraced megachurch pastor be monetizing a scandal that devastated his family, damaged the church, and hurt so many people? In this video, we examine Carl Lentz's controversial comeback, his interview with Tim Ross, the promotion of his book, the allegations surrounding his past misconduct, and his apparent belief that he is qualified to return to pastoral ministry. We also discuss the celebrity pastor culture, Transformation Church, Mike Todd, and the growing concerns about accountability and apostasy within the American megachurch movement. Can Carl Lentz truly repent, be forgiven, and be restored to Christ without being restored to pastoral leadership? This is a critical question facing the Church today. The Bible teaches that God's grace and forgiveness are available to every repentant sinner, but forgiveness does not erase the consequences of sin or automatically qualify someone for ministry. Drawing from Scripture, including 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Corinthians 9:24–27, and Proverbs 6:32–33, we examine the biblical qualifications for pastors, the meaning of genuine repentance, and the importance of being above reproach. We also revisit powerful teachings from Voddie Baucham about brokenness, repentance, and King David's response to his own moral failure. God, Politics and the Church: Christian Must Get Out and Vote in Midterm Elections A lot at Stake

The stakes have never been higher for America as the 2026 midterm elections approach! In this video, Joshua Simone of Torn Curtain examines God, politics, and the Church, exploring why Christians must understand the issues facing our nation and the importance of participating in elections. America is deeply divided politically, economically, and spiritually, and the decisions made in Washington could shape our country's future for generations. We examine the spiritual battle for America's future through a biblical lens, including Ephesians 6:12, and discuss the economy, inflation, America's nearly $40 trillion national debt, abortion, religious freedom, immigration, and the growing political divide. We also examine Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell's warning about Texas, the importance of Christian voter turnout, and what Barna's research reveals about Christian participation in American elections.President Donald Trump, Glenn Beck, and Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell are central to today's discussion as we examine the challenges facing America and the geopolitical stakes involving China, Russia, Iran, and Israel. We react to Glenn Beck's analysis of President Trump's policies on immigration, energy independence, manufacturing, prescription drug prices, crime, and national security, while also discussing concerns about inflation, government spending, and America's future. Can Republicans maintain control of Congress in the 2026 midterm elections, or will Democrats regain power in Washington? What role should Christians play in politics, and how should biblical values influence their decisions at the ballot box? Join Joshua Simone for a passionate discussion about Christianity and politics, Donald Trump, the 2026 midterm elections, the future of Texas, and the spiritual condition of America. Andy Stanley Resigns from North Point Community Church: He Helped Lauch Progressive Christianity

Andy Stanley is stepping down as senior pastor of North Point Community Church, one of America's most influential megachurches, but what does his departure mean for the future of evangelical Christianity? In this video, Joshua Simone of Torn Curtain examines Andy Stanley's announcement, his leadership transition involving Joel Thomas, and the controversial theology that has made him a divisive figure in the American church. From his approach to LGBTQ inclusion and sexuality to his teachings on sin, repentance, and biblical authority, we explore why critics believe Stanley helped normalize progressive Christianity and a watered-down gospel within the megachurch movement. We also examine his complicated relationship with his late father, legendary pastor Dr. Charles Stanley, and the striking theological differences between their ministries. Is Andy Stanley's departure a turning point for North Point Community Church, or will his theological influence continue as he transitions into a new ministry role? We discuss the dangers of seeker-sensitive Christianity, the rise of progressive theology, and why church growth, attendance numbers, and charismatic leadership are not necessarily measures of biblical faithfulness. Drawing on the example of John the Baptist and insights from Peter Scazzero's Emotionally Healthy Success, we consider what genuine spiritual leadership should look like. The church desperately needs pastors who preach the whole counsel of God, call people to repentance, and remain faithful to Scripture while demonstrating Christlike love. Join the conversation as we examine Andy Stanley's legacy, the future of North Point Community Church, and the urgent need for biblical truth and spiritual reformation in the American church. Woke Mega Church Pastor: There’s ‘No Biblical Basis’ for Abstaining From Premarital Sex

Is the Great Falling Away already happening in the Christian church? Dr. Delman Coates, senior pastor of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, Maryland, has sparked controversy by preaching that there is “no biblical basis” for abstaining from premarital sex. He argues that the Greek word porneia, commonly translated as “fornication” or “sexual immorality,” refers primarily to prostitution rather than sex before marriage. Coates has also made controversial statements about divorce and remaining in unhappy marriages. In this video, Joshua Simone of Torn Curtain examines Dr. Delman Coates' shocking sermon clips, his progressive Christian theology, and the growing influence of liberal theology within the church. Are we witnessing biblical truth being compromised to accommodate modern culture? And what does the Bible actually teach about sex before marriage, marriage, divorce, and sexual purity? We take a deep dive into what the Bible says about premarital sex, fornication, and sexual immorality, examining the original Greek meaning of porneia and key Scriptures including 1 Corinthians 6:18, 1 Corinthians 7:2–9, Hebrews 13:4, Matthew 15:19, and Genesis 2. We also explore 2,000 years of historic Christian teaching on sexuality and marriage, along with biblical scholars such as Sam Storms and Tim Keller. This discussion goes beyond one megachurch pastor to address the dangers of progressive Christianity, false teaching, biblical compromise, and apostasy in the modern church. How can Christians stand firm on God's Word without falling into legalism or compromising biblical holiness? The church must return to sound doctrine, biblical truth, repentance, and righteous living rather than conforming to the culture around us. The Bad Fruit of Jim Bakker’s Ministry: Jay Bakker, Tammy Sue Bakker and Ex Wife Tammy Faye Baker

What is the spiritual legacy of televangelist Jim Bakker, and did his prosperity gospel theology contribute to his family's embrace of progressive Christianity? Following Jim Bakker's death in October 2026, his daughter Tammy Sue Bakker publicly distanced herself from her father's theology and encouraged donations to LGBTQ organizations. Meanwhile, his son, Jay Bakker, has become a prominent progressive Christian pastor who supports LGBTQ inclusion, same-sex marriage, and challenges traditional evangelical beliefs. Even Jim Bakker's former wife, Tammy Faye Bakker, became widely known for her LGBTQ advocacy. In this video, we examine the controversial legacy of the PTL Club, the scandals surrounding Jim Bakker's televangelism empire, and the possible spiritual consequences of prosperity gospel teaching, religious hypocrisy, and celebrity Christianity. Did the failures of Jim Bakker's ministry contribute to his children's rejection of traditional evangelical theology?Jesus warned in Matthew 7:16, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." What does the Bakker family's story teach us about false doctrine, the prosperity gospel, and the dangers of building ministries around money, entertainment, and celebrity pastors rather than biblical discipleship? We examine the differences between progressive Christianity and traditional biblical Christianity, including the authority of Scripture, repentance, holiness, salvation, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Although we cannot know every reason behind the Bakker family's theological changes, their story raises serious questions about the spiritual legacy of televangelism and the responsibility of Christian leaders to practice what they preach. The church doesn't need more gimmicks, prosperity preachers, or compromised theology. We need a return to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, grounded in the WORD and empowered by the HOLY SPIRIT.#prosperitygospel #christianpodcast #christiannews TORN CURTAIN MINISTRY INFO: 😎GIVE ONE TIME GIFT 💰Pay Pal Donations: https://paypal.me/torncurtain?locale.x=en\\\_US 💰Cash App: https://cash.app/$torncurtain 💰Venmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/torncurtainorg 💰Zelle Donations: josh@torncurtain.org 😎Send Mail or Checks: 💰Checks Payable to: Torn Curtain Corp 209-34 Northern Blvd #1148 Bayside, NY 11361 😎BECOME MONTHLY PARTNER 👊https://www.patreon.com/torncurtain 😎BUY GOLD WITH PATRIOT GOLD GROUP -Add Gold to Your 401K or IRA Today Tax Free -Secure Your Financial Future in Uncertain Times Get Your Free Gold Kit Today: https://www.zjk2e4qe.com/7BZ2W/2CTPL/ 📧Join Torn Curtain Newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hGeh4L 📧Contact for Channel: josh@torncurtain.org ☑️LET'S CONNECT ON SOCIAL MEDIA ❤️Linktree: https://linktr.ee/torncurtain.org ☑️YOUTUBE CHANNELS: ☑️Youtube (Main): https://www.youtube.com/@TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone ☑️Youtube (Short Clips): https://www.youtube.com/@TornCurtain-ShortClips ❤️SOCIAL MEDIA ☑️Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/torncurtain.org ☑️Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/torncurtainorg/ ☑️Twitter: https://x.com/Torncurtainorg ☑️Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/torncurtainorg/ ☑️Rumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-1272482 ☑️Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@torncurtain.org ☑️Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1HearJldS4YdX1wZcXOb8H ❤️Ninety Nine Online Church: ☑️Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@Theninetyninechurch 📧Join 99 Church Email List: http://eepurl.com/qf4CLZgxvk 📧Contact for Channel: the99churchnyc@gmail.com

How Kenneth Copeland Brought New Age Beliefs Into the Word of Faith Movement

Kenneth Copeland introduced New Age teachings into the Word of Faith movement, influencing the broader Charismatic Church? In this eye-opening video, we examine the troubling connections between Kenneth Copeland's prosperity gospel teachings, Napoleon Hill's bestselling book Think and Grow Rich, and the New Thought philosophy that helped shape modern New Age spirituality. We look at footage of Kenneth Copeland discussing Napoleon Hill's influence on his understanding of prosperity and examine Gloria Copeland's unusual "100-fold return ring," which she associates with financial blessings. Are these teachings rooted in biblical Christianity, or have New Age concepts such as positive thinking, visualization, manifestation, and metaphysical principles found their way into the church? We explore the similarities between Napoleon Hill's philosophy and the Word of Faith movement, including teachings about wealth, faith, and the power of spoken words.Having spent my entire life in the Charismatic movement, I share my personal experience growing up under the influence of Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, and prosperity gospel theology. While I firmly believe in divine healing, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and God's desire to bless His people, I also believe the modern Charismatic Church desperately needs biblical discernment, sound doctrine, repentance, and reformation. Using Scriptures including Deuteronomy 18:9–12, Colossians 2:8, 1 Timothy 6:3–10, and 1 Thessalonians 5:21, we examine the dangers of false teaching, the love of money, and allowing worldly philosophies to influence Christian doctrine. Is it time for the Charismatic Church to reject the excesses of the prosperity gospel and return to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ? My prayer is for a genuine reformation that brings the church back to WORD and SPIRIT, biblical truth, holiness, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
