This podcast is a testament to God’s faithfulness. A love letter to our children. A story worth sharing. We talk about marriage, grief, leadership, faith, healing, family, and the reality of building a life together while the world watches. This space is intentionally raw and psychologically safe. Some episodes will make you laugh. Some will hit a little too close to home. Whichever way it goes, we vow to always say the quiet part out loud (we shook on it). We built this for the people trying to love well, lead well, heal honestly, and stay undivided in a world constantly pulling people apart.

In this episode, we’re talking honestly about what it takes to build with the people you love. We unpack the tension between loyalty and leadership, the pressure to protect relationships while still holding people accountable, and the boundaries we’ve had to learn, sometimes the hard way. Because love doesn’t automatically make working together easy. And sharing a last name doesn’t guarantee shared vision, communication, or capacity. After ten years of marriage and ten years in business, we’ve learned that building something meaningful with family requires more than trust. It requires clarity, honest conversations, defined roles, and the courage to choose what protects both the mission and the relationship.     In All of Your Getting: The Key to Healthy Conflict

    The goal of conflict isn’t to win, prove your point, or even agree, but to understand each other. Understanding is a love language. In this episode, we’re talking about how we navigate conflict in our marriage: saying the hard things, asking better questions, and fighting for understanding instead of fighting to be right. Portia also shares how being truly known by RJ taught her how to be softer, not because he asked her to shrink, but because feeling seen and understood made her feel safe enough to drop her walls. Scripture says, “In all your getting, get understanding.” We’ve learned that applies to marriage more than in any other relationship. Because most times, resolution isn’t getting your spouse to see things your way. It’s walking away knowing them better than you did before.

    You Are Not Broken: Grieving Together, Apart

    If you’ve ever wondered why grief made you feel distant from the person you love most, this episode is for you. Early in our marriage, we experienced multiple miscarriages. We were grieving the same losses, but we weren’t always grieving them the same way. Then years later, grief came for us again when we lost the most important men in our lives, 2 weeks apart. This conversation is probably our most vulnerable one of the season. We talk about miscarriage, what grief did to each of us, the ways we misunderstood each other, and the pressure we sometimes put on our spouse to grieve the way we do. If you are grieving a child, a parent, a dream, or a version of life you thought you would have, we hope this episode feels like a conversation with friends who won’t rush you through it. There is no perfect way to grieve. There is only the invitation to keep finding your way back to each other.

    Undivided: On Our Own Terms

    Ten years of marriage. Ten years of building businesses together. And a story we have protected for nearly all of it. In the premiere episode of Undivided, we sit down to answer the question we have been asked most since announcing the podcast: Why now? For the last decade, we have been intentionally private. We built our marriage, raised our family, navigated ministry, and grew our businesses away from the noise and opinions of the public. That privacy gave us room to become who God was calling us to be—individually and together. But now, we believe He is calling us to build in public. Not to perform. Not to present ourselves as a “power couple.” And definitely not because we have everything figured out. We are opening the doors because someone needs to see that healthy Black love exists.
