Onslaught & Fall 2: Deadpoint Reviewed | New Release Horror Movie Double Feature

Haunt our inbox 👻 Message us now! Your killer hosts are back with a sickening double feature: Onslaught and Fall 2: Deadpoint. We put them head-to-head after they were contentious picks in our 🎃 Halloween Hype Ranking (watch that ep next if you haven’t!) Each section starts spoiler-free before going all in. Check the chapter markers to jump around 👀 First up: Adam Wingard's Onslaught 🔫, starring Dan Stevens as a deranged Nazi scientist unleashing super soldiers on a New Mexico trailer park. We break down the politics, the power dynamics, that foot-licking scene. Our horror historian Julieann drops in with a deep-dive on Wingard's filmography (The Guest, You’re Next), Operation Paperclip, and the real Hans Kammler. Then: Fall 2: Deadpoint 🧗‍♀️, the sequel that we try our hardest to come up with something nice to say about, complete with questionable camera choices, social media montages that couldn’t exist, and hiking boots that should never have left the store.  👻 @scarymoviepod on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube 👀 scarymoviepod.com 🔪 scarymoviepod@gmail.com 😱 Leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts and we'll scream your name on an upcoming episode 🖤 Episode edited by Zrinka Ivanko. The Cabin in the Woods review | From the Vault

Haunt our inbox 👻 Message us now! From the vault: We're curating our greatest hits ahead of our September 3rd relaunch 😱 This one's extra special—it's our 100th episode 🎉 We reviewed The Cabin in the Woods (dir. Drew Goddard, co-written by Joss Whedon, starring Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connolly, and Fran Kranz) from our own forest cabin (literally) 🌲🔪 This episode originally aired May 31st, 2021, and is really a before-and-after when you compare it to last week’s From the Vault episode (I Know What You Did Last Summer). We break down the film's slasher archetypes, its meta-commentary on horror movie tropes, the behind-the-scenes drama with MGM and Lionsgate, and debate whether this cult classic horror-comedy is actually scary—plus our most memorable kills and a monster catalog rundown. We're back with new episodes (in full video!) starting September 3rd. And you get to help decide what's on our return slate! Head to scarymoviepod.com to vote: Victorian Psycho versus the new Resident Evil. Voting closes September 10th.
