Maine’s sonic landscape is as stunning as its legendary scenery. But the sounds that make Maine special don’t usually get as much attention as the views. We want to change that. So we reached out to the Island Soundscape Project – a Maine-based collaborative of artists and researchers who record the sounds of life and work here – to create a collection of audio postcards from around the state. Each postcard drops you into a unique, immersive moment in one location – meant to give you a new way to explore Maine, through your ears. And, we hope, these postcards might also give you a new appreciation for our unique communities and ecosystems.
