    Have Weddings Become Content?

    Would you still want the moment if nobody photographed it? We've seen so many weddings through photographs, highlight films, and social media that we already know what our own wedding is supposed to look like before it happens. The getting-ready photos. The bridesmaid reactions. The first look. The dramatic veil shot. And somewhere along the way, the camera went from documenting the wedding to helping design it. In this episode of The Tasteful Dossier, I'm talking about the increasingly blurry line between experiencing your wedding and producing it. Why we plan moments around photographs, how documentation changes the things it's supposed to preserve, and what happens when you become an audience member of your own wedding. I'm not suggesting you abandon your shot list or give up the editorial portraits you've been dreaming about. I love a production. But there's a difference between wanting to remember a moment and creating a moment because you want the photograph. And I wonder how often we recognize that difference while it's happening.     Do You Actually Like It, or Have You Just Seen It Everywhere?

    Ask someone why they want a certain dress, flower, hairstyle, or tablescape, and eventually you'll probably get some version of: I don't know. I just love it. And maybe you do. But there's another possibility: you've seen it enough times that it started to feel like preference. The more familiar something becomes, the easier it is to process, recognize, and feel comfortable with. Add Pinterest, TikTok, vendor portfolios, wedding publications, and an algorithm that learns what makes you stop scrolling, and suddenly figuring out what you actually like gets a lot more complicated. In Episode 005 of The Tasteful Dossier, I'm talking about familiarity and taste — how repeated exposure can shape preference, why weddings are especially susceptible to it, how trends reproduce themselves across the industry, and how to tell the difference between something that revealed your taste and something you simply learned to like.     Why I Built an App Instead of Another Course

    I could have made a course. It would have been easier, cheaper, and significantly less complicated than building an app from scratch. But the more I worked with brides, the more I realized the problem wasn't a lack of information. There is already more wedding advice, inspiration, tutorials, checklists, and expert content than anyone could possibly consume. The problem is figuring out what actually applies to you.
