    Change

School buses on an August morning were enough to scramble my brain and send me down a road I did not expect: homeschooling, raising independent sons, the old education-to-career formula, and why some people adapt while others disengage. I talk about letting adult children become adults, what Hurricane Helene proved about independence, and the uneasy line between accepting change and surrendering judgment. Change is unavoidable. That does not mean every change is progress. What makes change easier for you? What makes you push back? We Need to Talk

We have more ways to reach one another than ever, but genuine conversation seems harder to find. In the first full-length episode of I Was Thinking, I reflect on the friendships built through long phone calls, the isolation that changed how we relate to one another, our growing fear of disagreement, and the small conversations with strangers that remind us why human connection matters. This isn’t about agreeing on everything. It’s about getting curious, listening, and talking long enough to know the person standing in front of us. This is a public episode.
