And there is a lot of nostalgia in this book, dark nostalgia – from the love of early Mexican horror movies to 80s Hollywood slasher films.     Colombian comic book artist Melanconnie takes a deep dive into his work and why it is uncanny. “His work, so foreign to me, a young artist born and raised in Colombia, took me away from the normal tropical landscapes, and made me travel far away into Japan. From Ito’s eyes I saw a new perspective of the country that was my obsession since childhood.
