Welcome to WTJU’s Mom Beat Cville, your podcast home to Charlottesville’s new moms, working moms, single moms, and all the other moms in between. And of course, we can’t forget about the child-free allies — one of which may or may not be your host. Each episode (or, ahem, “beat”) brings two spectacular local moms on the air to discuss their experiences with the various facets of motherhood.     Welcome to Mom Beat Cville’s pilot episode!  Starting off strong, single moms Erika and Molly detail the nuances of dating as a parent, positioned from opposite ends of the spectrum.     What is it like to trade late-night salsa dancing and international travel for mid-workday feeds and Saturdays at the splash pads? Enter Sherry Bryant — working mom of two and Chief Curator of Learning and Engagement at the Jefferson School African-American Heritage Center.    And what happens when your late teens and early 20s are spent as a stay-at-home homeschool mom, but your 40s look more like college degrees, a career, and a wholly reexamined set of beliefs? Meet Sally Duncan — mom of five, local teacher and Albemarle County Board of Supervisors representative for the Jack Jouett District.     Sherry and Sally are moms, yes. But they’re also individuals, educators, advocates for their community, and much more.
