This bilingual podcast interviews global representatives from diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds, including Zen and Tibetan Buddhists, Protestants, Catholics, Daoists, Pantheists, and those from different ethnic minority groups, exploring how diverse belief systems and faiths shape understandings of destiny, suffering, meaning, and hope, along with the personal stories behind them. We are not pursuing theological debates or "correct answers." Instead, we hope to reveal how individuals find solace and meaning amidst harsh realities via faith.     Conversing Brian Linden: An American Humanist Dedicated to Spreading Iridescent Yunnan Cultures

    I have the great honor of speaking with Brian Linden, the founder of the Linden Centre, unique heritage boutique hotels and cultural exchange spaces across Yunnan. He is an American dedicated to preserving and amplifying diverse traditional Chinese cultural traditions to the world. Born and raised in Chicago, Brian first came to Beijing, China, in 1984 and founded the Linden Centre with his wife in Xizhou, Yunnan, in 2008. He has lived in Xizhou since then.     对话高子贺&牛鱼芬：晋东南传统古建与信仰竟如此多彩！

    今天，我有幸请到了两位深耕晋东南文化多年的老师——牛鱼芬老师和张子贺老师。张老师是土生土长的长治人，六岁起便在法清寺的飞檐斗拱间长大；牛老师来自晋城，做了十几年导游，带人看过无数"国宝"级的古建。晋东南，这片被太行山环抱的土地，可能是中国最"神"的地方之一——不是神秘的神，而是神庙的神。这里村村有庙，一个几十户人家的小村子，可能就藏着十几二十座庙宇；释迦牟尼、太上老君、孔夫子可以并排而坐；一座庙可能今天求子、明天治病、后天调解邻里纠纷。这些庙宇不是博物馆里的标本，而是活着的、呼吸的、和老百姓柴米油盐长在一起的精神空间。 我们将跟随两位老师的脚步，走进晋东南的村落、庙堂和山野，聊聊寺与庙的分别，地方神的传奇故事，让信徒心安的"灵验"瞬间，和传统信仰在现代科技社会带给人们的价值与希望。我们也会谈到一个有点沉重的话题：当村子空了、老人走了，这些庙由谁来守？如果有一天，太行山里的香火真的断了，山西会失去什么？ I'm honored to invite two scholars on Southeastern Shanxi traditional cultures and religions: Mr. Zhang and Mrs. Both raised in different parts of Southeastern Shanxi, they will recount the intimate stories and faiths of their local cultural traditions. In this episode, we will explore the villages, temples, and mountains of southeastern Shanxi: the differences between temples and shrines, the legends of local gods, stories of answered prayers, the purpose of religion, and what traditional faith can offer in a modern world of capitalism and AI.

    我有幸请到了高海骏先生，复旦最早的宗教哲学系的研究生。他将聊一聊中国佛教vs传统佛教，世界宗教的演变，现代科技，AI，语言模型，和社交媒体对于宗教的影响，等等。 I have the pleasure of inviting Mr. Gao, who studied religious studies and philosophy at Fudan University and is currently in the field of finance. In this episode, he discussed the nuanced differences between Chinese and traditional Buddhism, the history and philosophy behind world belief systems across the West and the East, the effect of modern technology, language models, and AI, along with social media, on people's choices of religious study.

    这期节目，我有幸采访到了中医谢医生，他将聊一聊他是如何从一名马来西亚的基督徒转变到一位佛教徒的。最有意思的是，他将探讨佛教哲学中的无我与念想与中医——气功，针灸, 等等——的关联！ In this episode, Dr. Xie talks about his journey transforming from a Malaysian Christian to a Buddhist doctor practicing Chinese medicine. Most interestingly, he investigates the close intersection between Buddhist philosophy surrounding meditation, anatta, and mental wellness with Chinese medicine's practices, teaching us how to live more healthily by possessing a positive and calm mentality.

    Conversing Prof Nokes: Protestant, Good VS Evil, & Religious Literature

    I have the pleasure of interviewing Richard Scott Nokes, a Professor in Medieval Literature and oral histories at Troy University, Alabama. We discussed the stories behind his family's Protestant faith, how his faith bestowed him a strange lack of fear in a near-death experience, questions of good vs. evil and suffering, along with religious literature and contemporary social trends, such as The Big Sort. 我很荣幸采访了特洛伊大学（Troy University，阿拉巴马州）的中世纪文学与口述史教授 Richard Scott Nokes。我们谈到了他家族新教信仰背后的故事、信仰如何让他在一次濒死经历中产生一种奇异的无畏感，以及善与恶、苦难等问题；此外，我们还讨论了宗教文学与当代社会趋势，例如“The Big Sort”（社会大分流）现象。

    在丽江旅行时，我有幸结识了纳西族的何永安姐姐。她成为我「信仰访谈」系列的第一位受访者。在这期对谈里，我们聊起了纳西族的文化根脉、云南高原上独特的母系社会遗风，以及纳西人信奉山神、敬畏万物有灵的古老智慧——在他们眼中，一草一木、一山一石皆有神性。 While traveling in Lijiang, Yunnan, I met He Yong'an, a local Nakhi girl, and I have the pleasure to invite her as the first guest speaker to my interfaith dialogue podcast! In this conversation, we explored the cultural roots of the Nakhi, the lingering traces of matriarchal society and their practice in Yunnan, and the Nakhi pantheistic religion and reverence for mountain deities.
