    Ayahuasca, Divorce & Finding Herself Again | Flirting With Chaos

    Giana went looking for a way to heal and ended up in Amish country with 15 strangers, a bucket, and a cup of ayahuasca. In this episode of Flirting with Chaos, Giana tells Jennifer about one of the most unexpected experiences of her healing journey after the end of a 13-year relationship. She shares what led her to try ayahuasca, the strange preparation and retreat, the fear of vomiting and pooping her pants, and what happened when the experience took a very dark turn. While others in the room were laughing, dancing, and describing incredible experiences, Giana spent nearly eight hours overwhelmed by grief. Then she woke up the next morning and realized something had changed. For the first time in a year, the constant rumination was gone. There was silence. The second night brought a completely different experience. Giana found herself back in childhood, remembering her dad playing guitar, singing with her sister, and the simple joy she had before life became complicated. Her biggest takeaway? In order to move forward, she had to go back. Jennifer and Giana talk about life after divorce, grief, healing, reinvention, midlife, letting go, and the sometimes hilarious reality of trying to find yourself again.
