The Forensic Room Courtroom Debrief: US v. Matthew Farwell w/ Special Guest, Margaret McLean

You may remember Margaret McLean from the time she spent alongside Kevin of Yellow Cottage Tales during the Karen Read trial. Well, we're thrilled to welcome her to The Forensic Room! Margaret has been inside the courtroom daily, following the federal trial of Matthew Farwell in connection with the death of Sandra Birchmore, and we're looking forward to hearing her firsthand observations. We'll sit down with Margaret to recap this week's courtroom proceedings, discuss the testimony and evidence presented, hear her impressions of how the case is unfolding for both the prosecution and the defense, and explore the moments that have stood out to her along the way. This entire hour is dedicated to Sandra Birchmore. Sandra deserves to remain at the center of this conversation, and that's exactly where we intend to keep her. We hope you'll join us for an important discussion as we continue following the evidence, the testimony, and the pursuit of accountability. The case doesn't end with the camera stops. So stay connected with The Forensic Room for courtroom coverage, evidence breakdowns, investigative deep dives, and the facts behind the noise. What They Should Have Said...

For years, we've heard accusations that witnesses conspired to frame Karen Read for John O'Keefe's death. But what happens when we examine what those witnesses ACTUALLY said and did versus what they COULD have said and done if framing Karen Read had truly been their goal? Think about it. If you're supposedly part of an elaborate conspiracy to frame someone, wouldn't you make sure your statements helped accomplish that goal? Wouldn't you take advantage of opportunities to strengthen the narrative rather than say or do things that could potentially undermine it? So we're going through witness statements and testimony, and asking: 🔎 What SHOULD they have said? 🔎 What COULD they have done? 🔎 What did they ACTUALLY say and do? 🔎 And does any of it make sense when viewed through the lens of the alleged conspiracy? PLUS…WE HAVE SPECIAL GUESTS! 🎉 We're thrilled to welcome back NEW — Non-Expert Witness, who we've all fallen in love with in record time! ❤️ And because one special guest just isn't enough, we've got ANOTHER SURPRISE GUEST joining us a little later in the show! Bring your questions, your critical thinking skills, and maybe a little common sense. We're going to have some fun with this one! The case doesn't end with the camera stops. So stay connected with The Forensic Room for courtroom coverage, evidence breakdowns, investigative deep dives, and the facts behind the noise. It's been a BUSY week in the Murdaugh case, with a flurry of filings flying back and forth between the defense and prosecution! We're breaking down the latest filings, reports of a possible grand jury investigation involving the missing murder weapons, Murdaugh's latest appeal involving Becky Hill, and upcoming hearing dates as we inch closer to his April 2027 retrial. PLUS! At the end of today's Murdaugh update, I've spliced in Kerry's excellent coverage of United States v. Matthew Farwell, involving the death of Sandra Birchmore, which we released last night. The Karen Read Effect + The Lindsay Clancy Connection: Two Trials, One Pattern

What happens when a criminal trial stops being about the evidence and becomes a social-media spectacle? In this episode, we examine the striking parallels between the Karen Read and Lindsay Clancy cases - from the harassment of jurors as a result of a mistrial, to false accusations against innocent family members, online pile-ons and increasingly unhinged communities treating real people and real tragedies like entertainment. The Read case has already spawned ongoing defamation litigation by witnesses in that case. Now, as the same tactics and accusations emerge in the Clancy case, we'll be asking: "Will history repeat itself?" Join us, as we examine the behavior surrounding these cases, how misinformation spreads, how innocent people become targets and the legal fallout as a result. Two cases. One disturbing pattern. And a whole lot of noise. The case doesn't end with the camera stops. The Leaks: Leaks, Lies + Legal Filings

After Aidan Kearney recently read live from an undocketed filing in the ongoing civil case, we started to ask ourselves: How many times have we seen this before? So we're rewinding the clock. For the past four years, information, documents, messages, filings, evidence and allegations have repeatedly found their way into the public eye - often before they were officially part of the public record. And the question isn't just what was leaked, but who had access, who benefited, what was being pushed, and what happened when a few of the leaks eventually caught up with them? We're taking a look back at the history of leaks involving Aidan Kearney, Karen Read, and members of Read's own legal team, examining the timing, the tactics, and the narratives that followed. And then we'll bring it right back to today - because despite years of criminal proceedings and court orders the game doesn't appear to have stopped. The case doesn't end with the camera stops. So stay connected with The Forensic Room for courtroom coverage, evidence breakdowns, investigative deep dives and the facts behind the noise.
