    A Home Away From Home This podcast episode explores how the growth of UCalgary’s African Studies program and how African student clubs have created spaces of home, identity, and belonging for African diasporic students on campus. Through interviews and reflections, we look at how advocacy, memory, and community have shaped student life and transformed campus spaces into places that reflect home.

    The Gauntlet In this episode of Hallway Histories, we’re looking at the University of Calgary’s student newspaper: The Gauntlet, its function as a record keeper of the stories that shape student memory and how the industry shifts of journalism have affected its functioning. We’re joined by Jason Herring, former editor-in-chief of The Gauntlet, to discuss how adapting to the media landscape had a larger effect on what stories get remembered in the archives.     Hallway Histories - Episode June 17, 2026

    Women In Politics Club This episode of Hallway Histories explores the Women in Politics (WIP) club at the University of Calgary, which was created by students to foster a judgment-free environment where women and gender-diverse students can engage in politics. The club builds a community that helps members develop leadership skills and gain access within the traditionally male-dominated political field. Hosts Kaylee Scott and Maya Bristow seek to answer how WIP creates an empowering space on campus and how members engage with it. The episode features an interview with Jay Dhillon, the club's founder and president, following recordings captured at the "Lead Like Her" event.
