    Vaccinations: How to Build Trust?

In the inaugural episode of A Better Question podcast, host Thomas Kim, MD, an Austin psychiatrist, member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) Council on Science and Public Health explores what physicians are seeing and hearing from patients regarding vaccinations. The first episode features two people who care for children: Marjan Linnell, MD, an Austin area pediatrician and member of TMA’s Committee on Child and Adolescent Health, and Lubbock pediatrician Tammy Camp, MD, of TMA’s Committee on Primary Care. Together they discuss common concerns their patients have and what better questions physicians and patients could be asking as Texas’ child vaccination rates are among the nation’s lowest.   Notice By accessing this Podcast, I acknowledge and agree that the entire contents and design of this Podcast, are the property of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), or used by TMA with permission, and are protected under U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws. A Better Question by Thomas Kim, MD

When patients face a health care concern, they often check their symptoms on the internet, turn to influencers on social media or ask their family and friends for medical advice before seeking help from a physician. This is a confusing landscape to navigate – for both physicians and patients. To help clear the confusion, the Texas Medical Association (TMA) launched new podcast called A Better Question. Hosted by Thomas Kim, MD, an Austin psychiatrist and member of TMA’s Council on Science and Public Health, physicians share stories about the challenges facing their patients and themselves and how they explore better questions to seek answers leading us all to better health.
